A charming old castle in the heart of Tuscany, oozing charm and history. A fantastic setting, away from it all, but excellent location for exploring the area. Car is essential. Staff and hostess couldn't be more helpful. We self catered and there is a shop just a couple of miles away and a small town with places to eat. Also...

We stayed there a few years ago. The property is just what you hope for and maybe dream about. An old castle in the heart of Tuscany countryside. Well cared for, reasonably priced, We stayed in San Martino, the guards tower. Perfect for a couple. Chiara was a wonderful hostess. Lots of accommodation choices for groups.

We booked Castello di Montalto for a family reunion in July 2016. It was a master stroke on our behalf!! We could not have wished for anything better, Chiara and all the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them which made organising the whole week a breeze. We had the whole place to ourselves and it was...

We rented all the apartments and everyone had a wonderful time together. Montalto is perfect. Chiara was always helpful and happy. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We were a group of 12, 8 of whom stayed in the perfect Loggia - 4 bedrooms, living/dining room, kitchen, dish washer, washer/dryer and a killer view from our one- flight-up balcony. We used the Castello as our base to explore Tuscany for 2 weeks. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. We strongly recommend having their breakfast...

I'm quite ambiguous to write a review about this B&B / Apartment complex. It's one of those cases where you want the "right" people to know. On the other hand, if too many people know about it, they might spoil the experience... So, how do you know if this is right for you? Simply, if you enjoy nature, the company...

We were a party of four and booked in for 5 nights at Castello di Montalto sharing a two bedroom apartment. Loved the whole concept of the Castello with apartments surrounding the main body of the castle. There are Wednesday drinks with the owners which is not to be missed - learn about the history of the Castello and the...

We held a family reunion here for 55 of our French and Australian relatives and it was a truly magical experience. The Castello grounds are superb and incredibly well maintained. There are excellent kitchen facilities which are well catered for and the tennis courts, pool and volleyball net are great for family activities. We had an age range from 11...

There is nothing to criticise about Montalto, it is not just its stunning location, local food and wine, but also the people working there that make the castle such a stress-free, completely idyllic place to stay. Very well organised, activities to suit all ages, just wonderful - already planning our next stay!

The ambiance, courtesy and helpfulness of staff was exceptional. Everything possible was done to ensure that our group was comfortable and enjoyed not only the amenities of the Castello but were made aware of points of interest nearby. The meals provided were of exceptional quality and enjoyed by all. Chiara, the manager, is exceptional and went out of her way...
