My mom and I stayed for one week in early May. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the wine was endless, the horses were healthy and the hosts Donatella & Sadio were welcoming. I would definitely return even though I am typically a traveler that likes to go to a new destination every year. Tuscany and the Centro... More

Touring through Tuscany there are so many spectacular sites, scenery, tastes and experiences, but the six days spent at Podere Santa Margherita with hosts Donatella and Sadio, was the true heart of our tour. Six days of pure pleasure riding their brave, strong horses through vineyards, olive groves, picnics, wine tasting and cellar tours, topped off each evening with an... More

We recently stayed here for 4 nights......but wished it had have been 14 nights! This was a true Tuscan experience and it was just magical for us. The horses are the best kept horses I have ever seen in a riding school and both Donatella's and Sadio's horsemanship was incredible! We loved the rustic but very comfortable surroundings...and waking up... More

We stayed at Sadio and Donatella's place for 3 nights in July! Wow. This is where you come to relax and enjoy a true Tuscan experience. Not too luxurious and not too rustic. Just perfectly comfortable. The house is very comfortable, as are the grounds. If you like horses, this is the place to go. They have beautiful horses and... More

Amazing scenery, perfect for horse riding even for beginners. If I had to write a book, I would choose to do it there...Firenze and Siena are 1hr car drive away. If you like italian culture, wine, animals this will be perfect.

The location takes your breath away. The horses are the best kept horses I have seen in a long while. The owners (Sadio and Donatella) are just the most amazing people. Sadio is always kind and available to help, a great cook and perfect manager. Donatella is an outstanding teacher, she understands your needs as a rider perfectly, her horses... More

I am writing this review a couple years after being here for a trail riding week and I wish I had the chance to do it earlier. This place is every beautiful dream I ever had of Tuscany multiplied by infinity. Accommodations were utterly charming and perfectly comfortable. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped. The grounds are stunning. The food is... More

Centro Ippico della Berardenga was recommended to me by the owners of the Villa Pancole, a nearby villa in the Arceno estate where I was staying. As a horse rider I wanted to explore the local countryside on horse back and this was the perfect way to see it. The riding school had closed due to the heat and presence... More

A warm welcome from Sadio and Donatella, even if we arrived late. Good recommendations too. An ideal place for the four of us (2 adults and 2 childreen) with two rooms and a common bathroom. The childreen enjoyed the horse riding and learned a lot from their teacher Donatella. A swimming pool 20 minutes away from the magnificient city of... More

My husband and our son and daughter-in-law take a riding vacation every year. Our week in the Chianti hills in Tuscany ranks as one of the best! Our hosts, Sadio and Donatella, could not have been more welcoming- and their restored farmhouse offers charming, rustic comfort in the rooms. The food was home-cooked, and truly excellent and the local wine... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Berardenga Horse Riding Centre, in the hearth of Chianti, a few kilometres from Siena, is an elegant and professional riding school. The Centre has been recommended by Ian Stark. Sadio and Donatella personally assist and receive their guest and riders. They speak French and English. Sadio and Donatella have been running the Horse Riding Centre since 1992, and it is recommended by FISE (The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports). The riding school offers accommodation in the organic farmhouse, fully certified, open to anyone seeking for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany, just a stone's throw from Siena and Florence. Sadio and Donatella have transformed their passion for animals and nature into a professional activity by creating their Horse Riding Centre with an Organic farmhouse in an uncontaminated valley of Chianti reserved for you and the horses. Their professionalism comes from their experience of around twenty years in the field of horse riding, with work experience in Italy and Europe and numerous licenses for this work, making Donatella a highly qualified teacher and sensitive to the needs of the students. Guests can choose one of our 3 apartments, Alloro, Big Walnut and Cottage. On request our "Breakfast Basket" including also our home made bread, Walnuts, yoghurt and cake and also our hens eggs!!! We have at guest's disposal a list of restaurants and some good recommendations. ... more   less

“We stayed in the courtyard apartment, and it was very private and comfortable as well as being spacious- with its own living room with fireplace, small kitchen (not needed- since all meals were included) and a covered patio in the rear overlooking the castle on the hill.”
