We spent two nights at Borgo Alveria in a deluxe room (No. D2). Our room with stone-clad walls was spacious, with a small outdoor seating area which we shared with the guests of the adjoining room. Given the somewhat remote location and the narrow country roads we chose to eat on both nights at the restaurant, which is housed in... More

we stayed here for three nights and used it for a base to visit a number of towns in the area. It is secluded (luckily we had the GPS coordinates!), but only a 15 minute drive into nearby Noto which is a fantastic town. The rooms are well done, with stone everywhere, so very clean, if a little cold. Overall... More

Difficult to reach, no horeca around but their own expensive and poor restaurant. The rooms are beautiful but no facilities nearby. The host was very unfriendly since the beginning of the week and after a night changed our room without any explanations, we felt unwelcome and surrounded by unfriendly and cold environment. Wifi doesn't work and swimming, being in plastic,... More

In a week we did not receive one smile. If we wanted the WiFi to work, we were told to just go somewhere else. After finding bats in our room, we were just told that that's not their responsibility. This list can easily be extended, but the message should be clear. If you want to spend a lot of money... More

We all found this hotel to be very welcoming and the owners went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with drinks and on our early morning departure four days later breakfast was served exclusively for us when it was much earlier than the normal serving... Beautiful domain, big rooms with all comfort. Refrigerator present in the room but mentioned that you may not store personal drinks in it. We did and had no issue with it. Breakfast, served on the terrace next to the pool, is ok but all days just the same offering so after a few days it becomes boring (we staid a... More

Very remote and hard to find place (hotel without address). If you don't want to dine in every night, you have to drive at least half an hour over very tough roads. Not all staff speak English, didn't give a a feeling of warm welcome. On arrival, after a day of travelling and glad we finally found the place, we... More

This agriturismo is a great place. Peaceful, wonderfully decorated, offering a nice swimming pool and a quite expensive but tasty restaurant. The place is an old monastery wondefully transformed to offer great pictures.

We loved this place but it was a bit out of the way. Not bad though for various trips in the area and sightseeing. We were advised to go to the beach at San Lorenzo which was one of the best beaches I have visited. Central to very interesting and ancient towns of Ragusa, Palazzolo and Siracusa. The rooms are... Borgo Alveria is an isolated spot in a beautiful location. It's about 20 minutes drive from Noto, and very close to the old city of Noto, (damaged by an earthquake), which is now a large free archeological area to discover. We were inspired to come to Sicily after watching Inspector Montelbano, which highlighted both breathtaking Baroque architecture and scenery. This... More
