I stayed here 1 night when passing through on a cycle tour. Yvan the owner could not have been more helpful. He kept my bike in secure storage and after breakfast the next morning he gave me enough food to last me all day on my bike. The room is very characterful with high ceiling and 4 poster bed. There's...

Stayed in this wonderful quirky accommodation that is full of history. Gorgeous property that has krpt a lot of original features. Really very rustic French with Yvan our host who could not have done more to make us welcome. Very restful at night and it was lovely that our room opened onto garden. Fabulous organic breakfast with artisan bread and...

This visit to Parthenay has rated at the top of our stays around Spain & France. Staying at Le Grand Logis is mind blowing, our host Evian, was just great, so welcoming and puts on a great breakfast every morning. The home was the original home of Henry 111's brother. First bit built in 1500 with more added in the...

We stayed here for one night as we were cycling the Velofrancette. We had a room in the top of this lovely old house with separate bathroom and loo. All with wonderful old beams and views over Parthenay. Breakfast was delicious with bread, croissant, fresh fruit and boiled eggs. The owner took so much trouble to make sure we had...

A very nicely located B&B in the historic and ancient town of Parthenay. View from the B&B on the citadelle. The rooms are huge (ground floor) with a lot of authentic details. Mr. Pied provides lots of information on the area, things to see and do and where to go for a good restaurant. The breakfast is also very good...

Do not be put off by the frontage, this place is a total gem . Yvan the owner and a fellow cyclist welcomed us and found the bikes a sheltered spot right outside our room, undercover ,and we had a large room with en suite, really nice, clean and very spacious. He recommended a local restaurant that was open (...

If you're looking for a place with history and character, look no further. Le Grand Logis is full of relaxed charm as is the owner who is welcoming and generous with breakfast. Parthenay has a beautiful old quarter and a couple of really nice restaurants. Worth spending a couple of nights here.

We had a beautifully spacious room with French windows out on to the lovely garden. Although this house is in the town centre it is possible to park nearby and the house and garden are a wonderful peaceful haven. The room had many period features but we still had all mod cons, including good wifi. Bed comfortable, efficient shower etc...

A charming, quirky and very French b&b in a good central location. It doesn't look much from the outside, but is well worth a stay. We received a warm welcome from the owners aand Yvan couldn't do enough for us, providing advice on places to visit, booking a restaurant for dinner and chatting as much as our limited French would...

This is a quite delightful hotel, sited in the network of mediaeval lanes that cover the hillside opposite the citadel of this fine, historic town. My companion and I quickly realised that asking for the hotel by name produced puzzled frowns, but asking the way to "chez Monsieur Pied" led to happy smiles and instant directions to the home of...
