We arrived at the hotel about 6.30 after getting off the boat arriving 3.00 at Ouistreham. This was without hurrying! The hotel is not far from the motorway and there is parking outside on the road or in an inner courtyard. The room was a bit faded with some areas where the wallpaper was peeling but it was scrupulously clean... More

We had an overnight stay at this hotel at the end of July this year. We booked a twin room and were given a family room with a double and a single. I think it was Room No. 1. The room was very tired and dated and in need of redecoration. The sliding shower door in the cabinet in particular... More

Le Chevel Blanc Saint Maure de Touraine. Here we are in Central France in Saint Maure de Touraine 37800. about half way to our destination. I would at this point add that as an “old Age Pensioner” I first came to France when I was 7 years old and have been travelling through France ever since. My wife booked this... More

Located right on the D910, the hotel is on the edge of historic St-Maure. It's old bones have been neglected for too long, and the place has become very tired, in need of a good make over. It was saved for us by the excellent dinner we had. My first floor room was a reasonable size and faced west on... More

Booked this last minute as a quick 1 night stopover. It wasn't until I got an email confirmation from the hotel that I realised we could not check in after 6pm! I called central reservations and they managed to negotiate a late arrival until 9.30pm but when we arrived the owners seemed most peturbed that we dare arrive so late.... More

The welcome we received when we arrived could not be described as effusive, indeed, we thought that we might be disturbing the staff by arriving at all. The hotel is rather down-at heel and clearly in need of a face lift. The room was small but adequate for a single night stay. The bathroom was, however, a disappointment. Small French... More

Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine is a very quiet town with a quaint square at the top of the hill and a fantastic creperie if you are able to get seated amongst the friendly locals. The "Chenin Blanc" itself however is quite the opposite, The hotel is quite spartan, with reasonably comfortable beds, small tv (limited channels), and clean but small bathrooms. However, the... Not our best experience with a 2-cheminees Logis de France. Old fashioned but totally lacking in charm. Unfriendly staff. Very, very outdated room, in desperate need of renovation. Noisy. Dinner in the restaurant (rated 2 'cocottes', which normally stands for decent, local cuisine) was below standards as well. On the good side, they do offer secure parking.

Our family had 4 rooms (11persons) for the night when visiting a wedding of our friends (of 36 years) Grandaughter. The hotel was ideally situated for our purpose. The rooms although a bit old fashioned were clean & the beds clean & comfortable. Petit dejeuner was good. Overall the hotel offered good value for money.

We arrived at 1.30p.m for lunch - the restaurant had 20 tables, one was occupied. The 'host' told us to sit where we wanted. We took a corner table, laid for three ( who wants to sit in the middle of an empty restaurant?). He shook his finger at us and said ' un , deux' ( one, two) pointed... More
