This is a deeply romantic place to be with someone you love. If you would find an immaculate thatched roof hut with no running water except a coconut shell shower, and powered by a handful of solar panels with no generator noise (unlike most other hotels on the island), this is the perfect place to visit. Ana Rosa is an... More

Las Palmeras is set in extensive grounds with lush plants and flowers. The cabin my sister and I shared was spacious and clean. I think we were the only cabin to have a fan each above our beds. The fans worked by coling two wires together and uncoiling them when you wanted to turn the fans off! Even with the... More

I'm so pleased I stayed here instead of visiting the islands on a daytrip. You get to escape the busy beaches, sunbeds, jetskis... this is authentic Isla Grande life. Ana Rosa prepares delicious, fresh food, and it's all typical from the island (arepas, fish, coconut rice, juices). She can also arrange tours to the laguna encantada to see the bioluminescence,... My girlfriend and I highly recommend this place if you want to stay on a beautiful island but not spend too much money. Eco-hostel las palmeras offers private huts or hammocks, everything is quite simple (ie. Shower with buckets and coconut Shells) but very clean. All food is included during the stay, you're not able to choose but it is... More

It is a beautiful, cheap place with kind personnel. The bedrooms are clean (which is often difficult to get in hostels in the caribbean). Bathrooms are always clean. Ana Rosa, the owner, is a lovely native woman who will always help you with a big smile. Food is good and cheap. Overall this is the place to go if you... More

I had not read tripadvisor before going, only read Lonely Planet. So I didn't know that it is a very basic place, more like a village hostel rather than a hotel. Was surprised by the dust and dirt you carry right into your hut, the small beds, the worn bed linen and that you have to "flush" the toilet with... More

We were looking for a simple place that could connect us easly to the lagunas and beautiful beaches, and we foubd the perfect spot with the nicest people. The place runs on solar electricity and the shower is natural (cocnut bowl and tank of water), as you can see the room are somptuous and the natural acclimation is perfect. And... More

This place is a piece of paradise. Stay here not only to enjoy for yourself but also to help the locals on their beautiful Island. The service was exceptional and detailed. The hut we reserved was clean and well kept. The food was delicious. They also went the extra mile for me personally: they had shrimp and flowers brought by... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hotel is 100% ecological and in nature, managed by five local families of islanders. We produce electricity from solar panels. We offer fun activities for adults and children: snorkeling in the coral reef, luminiscent lake at night, tour of the lakes and mangrove by kayak, bird sanctuary, forest hikes, and visits to the local village. The island is also perfect for just relaxing with a good book on a hammock or on the beach. ... more   less
