Dignified! I went to Todd once again. Serene Sky Hotel upgrades: accommodation now in a comfortable three-storey building. I had a corner suite with a gorgeous panoramic window, ocean view! The room is light, spacious. Nice curtains too, able to close the whole window for a day's sleep. The toilet also has a window. Soundproofing is good. All night surf noise. Thanks to a little wind from the sea, there were no mosquitoes on the balcony and in the room! Unlike hotels in the middle of the island. Fancy breakfasts.

I spent four days at Serene Sky Guest house with my parents over Christmas. It was a wonderful experience, Karam and his family went above and beyond for us.
After booking I communicated with Karam easily, regarding transfer details and other activities available on the island. When we arrive he was waiting for us with a buggy to take our luggage to the guest house. Once we settled in he organised for us a buggy to show us around the island!
The rooms are spacious and clean, with air con, comfy beds & large bathrooms. There is a common area where you can connect with other guests and play pool.
The island its self is stunning, one of the most beautiful local islands I have experienced in the Maldives. There is one bikini beach on the far side of the island, which is one of the biggest and most beautiful bikini beaches we have seen during my stay here, it is roughly a 20 min walk away from the guest house, but you can easily hire push bikes or get a lift in a buggy.
Along the jetty there is a local beach which is closer to the guest house, which is also very beautiful, be sure to follow the local dress code. You can snorkel just off the beach, it's very diverse and full of wildlife.
In the morning the sun rises at the jetty side which is about 2 minutes away from the guest house. It was such a gift to get up and watch the sun rise, from the jetty with a cup of coffee. Be sure to get up at least once and welcome the sun, you certainly won't forget a Maldivian sunrise.
Serene sky provide a great breakfast, we opted for a local breakfast mas huni and Roshi with fruit and coffee. But they also will provide a continental style breakfast also.
There are only four restaurants on the island, at this time, but we found theres plenty to choose from and loved trying the local food. We fell in love with short eats! Maldivian snacks, which are generally based around coconut, and fish. The guest house also provide dinner for an extra cost.
The local people on the island really made this trip for us, most people were very smilely and welcoming and Karam and his family made us feel as if we were apart of their family. It was such a special adventure for us, memories were made on Thodhoo that I will never forget. My favourite Christmas yet!

Whichever package or room price you choose, all the staff at Serene Sky Guesthouse will bend over backwards to make sure you have a pleasant stay. It's incredible. We love papaya for example, and mentioned this in conversation. We then got papayas every morning for our breakfast (it was papaya season when we were there: late November).
We found Serene Sky to be one of the cheapest options in Maldives. You definitely get value for money here.
The rooms are clean and kept clean by the staff. There are good kitchen facilities and depending on which Serene Sky block you stay at (Block B is near the harbour with the larger nicer rooms, Block A is slightly nearer to the beach), you are no more than 10-20 minutes walking distance from the beach.
The beach is lovely. It's a "tourist" beach - ie women can wear bikinis there (this is a Muslim country after all) and most importantly it's clean with nearby coral to snorkel in. Serene Sky will happily lend you snorkelling gear.
We are long term travellers, so on a budget. Therefore, the main thing for us was to ensure we could cook and keep costs low. This was very easy to do here and there are 3 stores nearby.
There's also several good restaurants as well, the most well known is "Ice Tea". Everyone gets excited about Ice Tea. We personally didn't like it because the food didn't fill us (we are big eaters). But it was tasty, and when you come to Maldives from India (like we did), everything is naturally going to seem really overpriced!!
Finally, the scuba diving - we came to Maldives primarily for this. Atoll Scuba no longer provide the Scuba services here as is advertised on their website and by previous reviewers. Instead there is a new excellent instructor from Latvia called Anatoliy (he's fluent in Russian and English).
We did 4 dives with Anatoliy in site on Thoddoo and also in nearby Rasdhoo island and saw turtles, manta ray and white tipped coral sharks. He is excellent and most importantly, very patient with inexperienced scuba divers (like us).
To end this review, the main standout comment was the staff who were very obliging to any request we had, particularly Sadam and Nassir.

The Serene Sky Guest House was very beautiful guesthouse where we spent our holiday. First of all the owners were very polite, helpfull and assiduous. They picked up us in harbour and took us to guesthouse where we could see our lovely room. Everything was clean, nice and we could started to live in paradise. Whole island has nice beaches where we snorkeled and saw amazing corals, fished and also mantas. The owners arranged for us everything what we asked them as maladivian traditional meal, snorkeling, kayaking. They showed us fields with papaya, watermelon, vegetable etc. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this island and spend night in the guest house with those guide. Thank so much.

We get to the Serene Sky because of bad weather in Male. Originally we planned to go to Mathiveri Island. So we came to Serene Sky for one day and it was beautiful. Ibrahim is such a good person, he can arrange everything that come to your mind.
Accommodation was great, there was air-con, ceiling fan, TV, fridge, safe even billiard on the reception. Every day we get water for free. And the beach...It is exactly beach that you expect from Maldives. I haven`t seen better beach in my life. White sand, azure water, palms under which you can cover, hammocks on the palms, plastic chairs on the beach you can take for free. Once a day one local guy (really friendly and funny guy) came to clean up the beach. He get coconuts from palms, opened it up and gave us for free. Beach is little bit far from guesthouse, but the walk on the beach is amazing. All the plantations of passion fruit, papayas, cucumbers etc. Amazing view.
After day, we left for Mathiveri, but we were really disgusted (read my review at Booking - Mathiveri Stay), so we canceled our stay at Mathiveri and got back to Serene Sky for another week. Ibrahim was awesome, he helped us with transport (called his friend and make us price to boat). While on Serene Sky, he arranged us snorkeling 2 times and we have seen tortoises, dolphins and stingrays. It was amazing.
We had half board, breakfast was in the guesthouse and dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was great, and before every meal you got papaya (also in restaurant).
Local people are really friendly and i would say used to tourists, so there was no problem at all. Every evening a ferry is leaving with fruits from island, one evening we went for a walk to harbor and get free papayas from people on the ferry.
Also a staff (Hanah and this young guy) was excellent, few times they take us to the beach on scooters and Hanah once take us to trip around island to see how locals work on plantations. When we were leaving, they gave us coconuts as present.
It was really great holidays for very good price, i would recommend Serene Sky for everyone that is going to Maldives. Trust me, I have visited 3 islands (Mathiveri, Rasdoo and Thodoo) (You can read my experience at booking - Mathiveri stay), and only Thodoo was Maldives as it is supposed to be. We will definitely come back.

We spent couple of days in this guest house and it didn't disapoint us. In the beginning we had some problems with the transport because the local ferry was cancelled and the speed boat was sold out so we had to wait for 4 hours for private speed boat for 350 dollars. It was very exhausting after the long travelling by plane. Finally, we managed to get to the guest house and we were warmly welcomed with Majeed and his team. They gave us a welcome drink and a fruit basket.
Room is simple but comfortable. You get for you pay for but the service is very good. Every day cleaning and new towels. We did not like that despite the prohibition of smoking, there were some guests who were smoking during the breakfast!
The food The breakfast was modest, 2 meals were changing. The island provides 2 restaurants where it is possible to eat but you have to order 1 hour earlier or 1 day if you want to eat something special (crabs, lobster,squid,octopus,...). Food there is very good. Majeed was very kind and he tried to arrange everything we needed, also he ordered from Male the fruit we wanted. There are several markets where you can buy almost everything. There is a possibility to buy some fruit and vegetables in the harbour right before its transportation to Male.
Activities you can choose from many activities organized by guest house like diving, snorkeling with manta, fishing, catching the crabs and many others. Majeed organized the watersport day for free so we took advantage of it and it was funny. You can also rent a bike for 1 dollar per day and make a tour around the island.
Island this island is untouched by tourism and has its own magic. The island is green and sourrounded by palms and nice wide agricultural areas. The faune and flore is colorful. There are bats, lizards. birds and mosquitos so bring the repelent. The beach allowed the bikini is only one but it is very nice. It is little bit far from the guest house but it is a pretty walk.
I highly recommend this guest house for those who want to explore the untouched island by the tourism and industrialism and who want to spend some time in the paradise. I wish I could stay there longer.

This was undoubtedly the best accommodation we had in Maldives. We were really impressed by the readiness of the staff to help us out as we were looking for the night ferry. (It runs from fish market NOT Villingli ferry point.) Room and common areas were clean and awell maintained. We could cook our own food since I am a vegetarian and that was a blessing, other places we stayed in would not allow it. Over all a nice stay.

This place is a real Paradise, I fell in love with the people and the island. Thoddoo Island has one of the most beautiful coral reef I've ever seen, the people there are the most friendly and kind you would ever meet. I stayed there for 6 nights, I got to do snorkel, diving, fishing and even visit another island. Majeed even taught me how to paint. My whole experience there was fantastic, I just can't wait to go back. Breakfast was really good and even though there was only one restaurant open while I was there, I could order what I want and they would cook for me. Majeed, Ibrahim and Karam made sure I got everything I needed and they made me feel comfortable since day one. I took the ferry from Male and yes was a 4 hour ride but I didn't mind because on my way I got to see a beautiful sunset and then the sky full of stars, completely worth it. I would do it again! The island is beyond beautiful, you can even see plankton that makes the beach glow at night. While snorkel and diving I got to see turtles, sharks, manta ray, stingray, and many kind of fishes. It was amazing. If you are looking for a budget place to stay in Maldives, I highly recommend it! The Guest House is new, clean, close to the beach, the staff is excellent! You won't regret it!!

Me and my sisters decided to have a trip to Maldives and we have choosen Thoddoo island. We have booked at Serene Sky Guesthouse, we had a very warm welcome as the whole team was there to pick us up. Karam and Ibrahim was really nice and helpful. Our 5 days trip had just started.
On the 1st day we went for a snorkelling trip by boat, we we're not good swimmers but thankfully they provided us a guide on the boat. Also lot's of thanks to our guide Mokthar.
On the 2nd day we have met Maison the manager from Serene Ocean it's part of Serene Sky as well but on the Scuba diving and watersports side. We have done a Discover scuba diving and it was awesome, Our instructor was really professional and we felt really safe underwater :) .
On the 3rd day we decided to relax on the beach and we had a lift from Serene Sky associates to the beach, so it was easy for us.
On the 4th day had a fantastic barbeque night at the Serene Sky restaurant. And the staff was very entertaining and funny so it was a fun night yet a full stomach.
Our last day was a relax day aswell we sat around and walk around the island just to have a look at the local life, people we're really friendly everyone greeted us hello and we felt very at home. People are so nice we pass a farm and the guy who was plucking a papaya offered us for free!!! we wanted to pay but he refuse to take it.
Overall me and my sisters enjoyed our stay at Serene Sky guesthouse and our warm welcome from the people of Thoddoo
