Lovely hotel with warm friendly staff and clean large room! The best views also in Ayamonte. A pleasure to stay here. The staff make you feel welcome and are always on hand to provide assistance. A very traditional Spanish hotel that provides a cultural feel. Highly recommended!
So we stayed here for one night on our way to Portugal from Spain. The parador has beautiful views over the bridge and to Ayamonte. The garden is well kept and lush, there is an outdoor swimming pool and a nice terrace being served from the restaurant, as well as plenty of free parking and free and well working wifi.I liked the modern reception area very much. The room itself was rather dated and needed some refurbishment, especially the bathroom. Water pressure was very good, though. The room was rather big and had a balcony with a nice view. No tea/coffee tray and no ironing equipment, though. Complimentary toiletries were good except for the conditioner which was useless. Flat screen tv is on the small side and there was not many international channels. The room had a working desk and enough power plugs. Breakfast was very good with some Spanish specialties like quince jelly and cheese. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, as in most Spanish hotels, sound proofing was not great, so one early riser child woke up the whole corridor when passing through, or so I expect. If you like to walk, you can get to the town center and port in about 20-25 mins. Also, there is a shopping area about 15 mins walk away. We had supper in town and walked back around midnight, there was no one on the street at that time but it felt safe. Would definitely go again, it seems like a nice place to relax for a few days. It has to be said though that the beds are rather hard and there is no duvets.…
This was a lovely parador in a great location! The rooms were spacious and comfortable! We could see Portugal from our balcony and so thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There was a wedding held there but the staff managed to smoothly take care of the wedding party AND the parador guests..…
Unfortunately we arrived on a very busy Saturday when the hotel was full and the guests were very noisy. The poor staff at breakfast were obviously struggling with the sheer volume of people in the restaurant. It would've been nice to be properly welcomed by reception staff and asked if we would rather converse in our native English or Spanish. Superior room was spacious and clean with lovely view. However, the hotel is generally showing its age with cracked and badly chipped floor tiles, stained bath and mouldy tile grouting. The food in the restaurant was poor value and certainly not of any great standard - very salty too! Ignacio on reception made our stay as good as possible and the staff at breakfast were super. Breakfast was good.…
We stayed in room 128 from 27-28.05.19. The room was gigantic. The double bed was rather small. No duvet on the bed but blankets which we do not like as the feel of the woollen material on your skin is unpleasant and not so hygienic. The drain of one of the wash basins in the bathroom did not work properly and was probably partly blocked. The breakfast very adequate. Dinner as in most Paradores good. During dinner none of the staff available spoke or understood English. Service in the bar not very good. I had to go to the bar myself with the empty glasses to get them filled up again. Breakfast at 8am is too late. Other hotels it is usually 7 or 7:30 am. People are queuing already at :30 because they want to get on with their day. …
