Worst hotel experience that I ever have had. There was no one receptionist at night, only a night doorman, who couldn’t solve the hot water problem. Paid a 150€ and couldn’t even have a hot shower. I ordered a toast at night, the ham was like a stake not slice with very bad taste. Getting back on the room... very noisy the room, I could here any kind of noises during the only night that I spent there, doors slamming, water coming from the shower, people talking outside on the streets could easily ear them talking and making noises with their cars. Next morning I asked the receptionist to talk to the manager or someone above but they said that was impossible. How come?!…
It is a nice place to stop and rest. They are bike and dog friendly, they also have a spa. The building is just in city Center. Very close to historical places, but also in middle of restaurants and no more than 100 meters from pubs and longe bars. Great place.
The hotel is located in the center of Caminha, perfect for getting to know the historical center. The space and design are very well conceived. The rooms were spacious and creative. Breakfast was simple but with sufficient variety. Some of the finishing touches appear worn out, such has door handles and shower protections. Moreover, some of the electronic equipment and wall paint needs extra care.…
Rooms good size with small fridge, a safe, bed comfy, windows that open, restaurant on the property (excellent dinner!), If that doesn't suit, there is a good selection of restaurants nearby, breakfast is included, bar available on main floor with, as you'd expect, a good selection of wine. The only downside was a heavy smell of disinfectant or room aerosol that gave my wife a headache. Recommended (unless you have allergies).…
For a small town this hotel looked to be modern and interesting. I will divide my review into two parts. The good parts - the interior was very interesting and I loved the the stark walls with interesting wall drawings, bikes in the hallway and very modern vibe. The room we had was overlooking the park and was bright and sunny. Again interesting figures drawn on the walls, bright primary colours and minimalist decor. The beds were comfortable and there was good wardrobe space. Three of us had massages in the Spa which we enjoyed, followed afterwards by a dip in the bath warm pool and jacussi. The breakfast was perfectly fine and we enjoyed it. The bad parts- the receptionist who checked us in was gruff and unwelcoming which was the 1st time we experienced this in Portugal. When we went to our room to have a shower after our long walk there was a shower which was quite complex with four different water outlets and an array of levers to move (one of which in our room was stuck in position). I have travelled extensively and have never come across a shower I could not work but this one was a challenge. The shower space is small so in order to find which lever did what, I stepped outside the space until I could gauge the temperature and moving one lever, a waist high water spurt came straight at me and soaked the floor. I finally got one lever to work the overhead and had a normal shower. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to share this information with my sister and in her attempt to work the same shower turned a lever which shot boiling water on her feet and burned the top of both feet, one of which blistered. The same receptionist was very unmoved by this report and showed neither interest or remorse at the event and suggested our other friends ask for a member of staff to show them how to use it if they had problems. A suggestion that they might post some type of instructions for 1st time users was also met with disinterest. This attitude was disappointing as every other hotel we had stayed in was completely hospitable and friendly. It was only one person so I don't want this to implicate the other staff. Two other small irritations. There was no bin in the room apart from the toilet tissue bin in the bathroom and no hooks of any kind to hang up towels. Sacrificed on the alter of design!…
