We only spent one night here before moving on to Angra. This hotel was so nice that we wished we had stayed a few more days. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable, with a balcony facing the ocean , a sitting room and a small kitchen. The breakfast buffet was perfect. We fell in love with charming, beautiful and laid back Praia. We will be back to Praia and this hotel.
First of all the service at this hotel is excellent. Big apartments and its clean. Breakfast is simple but ok. Misses some vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber and paprika. Coffe is terrible. Had to put a towel below the bath tub to avoid a big flood at the bath room floor. I will strongly reccomend to turn on the heating in the rooms, especially If you are here in winter as we were. But over all it was a pleasant stay, and five nice days at this lovely island.
The staff at Hotel Praia Marina was extremely friendly and accommodating. Every single staff member seemed to go out of their way to make my wife and I feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel's location, directly across from the beach, is very nice. There are restaurants and stores directly next door and it was an easy walk to the center of the village. Our room was very well equipped and included a wonderful harbor view, a small cook top (although we didn't utilized because the local restaurants are wonderful), mini fridge and plates, cups, bowls, etc. Each morning's breakfast provided freshly made scrambled eggs and bacon and an assortment of bread and pastries, freshly made waffles, local cheeses and coffee and juices. I would highly recommend Hotel Praia Marina.
We booked a vacation to 3 Azores Islands through an agency; generally I do all the booking myself, but thought I'd give an agency a shot. The day before we were to leave Faial for Terceira, I received an email stating my hotel was undergoing construction, and we were being switched to this property. I'm very glad of it. We arrived about 10 (check in was 4), and had to wait about an hour to get into our room, but I really appreciated the early check in. The ladies staffing the front desk were really nice, for instance, my wife had lost her iPad in our travels. We mentioned it to one of the ladies, telling her it was probably left on the plane or in the gate area at the airport. While we were at lunch, she called the airport on the island where the airport was located, and found the iPad. We were able to pick it up at lost and found a couple days later when we went to our final island. Anyway, easy check in, and the hotel has an elevator for the mobility challenged. The property is well located, there are several decent restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We had a bay-view room, and it was nice being able to look out over the water. The room was spacious by any standards, and had a kitchenette. I've always like hotel rooms with couches because it's like lying around the house. I hate lying on the bed unless I'm sleeping. Parking is a bit odd, they have 3 spaces out front, and one on the side. IF you can't nab one of them, you have to park a block or two away. Not a big deal, and parking is always at a premium in the Azores. I'm unsure what the place cost, as it was part of a package, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable, well located, and as stated above, the staff is excellent. It's a great place to stay.…
Beautiful clean room overlooking the marina. Room had a well equipped kitchen which was fortunate as we found it difficult to eat nearby as the local restaurants were unable to cater for my gluten free diet. Plenty of choice at the harbour-side and in the town otherwise if you can eat anything. The room was large with a settee, beds, a kitchen and a small balcony. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast had an excellent choice and plenty for me. Could almost touch the sea from our table. Staff went out of their way to help and nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed our stay here.
