Renello is one of the most beautiful sceneries we have lived in during our many many stays in Italy. Your Instagram Will Love it. However this agriturismo was NOT optimal for a family with KIDS. We lived at “Lippo” with no air conditioning and no/broken Mosquito nets The staff is overwhelmingly kind and e.g provided us with a fridge for keeping milk cold etc. - a crucial step for us to enjoy the holiday. Notice also: breakfast 9-10am - no service (coffee, cold drink) during the day , few quiet places with shadow and unfortuneably many many bees around pool which also lacked umbrellas - no laundry service - no firealarms - noise from neighbors (and their dogs) We payed 1200euro for a week incl breakfast and for that price even high season we would Not return or recommend to other families. To sum Up : Location and exterior - full score Interior and value for money - low score!

One of the very best places we stayed in. We came here longing for delicious Italian food, good wine, friendly atmosphere, peace and quiet and got so much more! I don’t know what the best thing about Renello is. Is it the food that is simple, yet so exquisite, made from the very best local ingredients ? Or is it the wine that comes here from Tuscany that Andrea can spend hours talking about? Or is it the beautiful villa we stayed in, with its traditional Tuscan decor, solid wood furniture, combined with modern touches? Or is it the view spreading over Tuscany we got to enjoy every day? Perhaps the 10,000 Olive Trees growing in this farm, creating unforgettable landscape and fresh breeze? No, the best thing about Renello are it’s people - the lovely family looking after us, the other guests, the people who work here. They made our stay so relaxed and so easy. We loved every second of being here. This holiday was as Italian as it can get - food, wine, sunshine, loads and loads of home made olive oil, spectacular short drives to Pienza, Montepulciano and a little further aufteilend, to Florence. It is a working farm producing olive oil, breeding horses, growing its own vegetables. You can go on a truffle hunt with some very cute dogs, or take a boat ride on a nearby lake. (In secret you can feed Zara, a beautiful dog, tiny bit of sausage under the table, but don’t tell anyone :)) This place is an oasis of calm, it is charming and modern. We loved the presence of the owner and his beautiful wife but his two children clearly stole the show! It is clear to us they brought a lot of modern ideas, even more passion and endless enthusiasm to this place. They are as professional and friendly as it can get. A week here is not enough so we already booked for next year.

Agriturismo Renello is a very nice place. The location, rooms, the family, the food. They are very friendly and helpful to organise all what they can in order to make your stay as nice as possible. The cottage was tastefully renovated, clean and comfortable. Dinners were fantastic. During our stay they organised a truffle huntig which was great fun, we also took part in a cooking class which was interesting, too. All in all a very pleasant stay. If one has to complain about anything then perhaps 10 eur/p person for the simple breakfast is a bit too much.

Absolutely one of the best places to stay when you are visiting the south of Tuscany/Val d'Orcia. Enjoy the hospitality of the Godone family, they will make you feel right at home en tell you all you need to know about the region and will serve you excellent diners and wines! If you have the change, book the cabin "Belvedere". It has one of the best views we've ever had!!!

Our final 4 nights in Tuscany . . . this surpassed expectations. We were in the Lavanda room - as well as the ground floor room and bathroom, you have a small indoor sitting area, complete with fridge (great for keeping a supply of cold water in hot weather), microwave, kettle, tea and coffee. The room itself does not have air conditioning, but the window has a mosquito net, so leaving it open for some fresh air is not a problem. We slept well even after days with temperatures in the high 30s (Celsius) / 90s (Fahrenheit). The place itself is spread out over quite a few buildings - old farm buildings converted into accommodation. Pool, BBQ area, small out eating area, large terrace for breakfast, indoor games / TV room / restaurant area, table tennis area, grass area for football / volleyball, various tables and sun umbrellas around the farm etc. etc. Nothing feels hurried or crowded. It's all family run - Andrea, the son and sister, girlfriend and mother largely run the Agriturismo and the father runs the farm (olives etc.). And Andrea takes a lot of pride in offering guests a real taste of Tuscany. The first night he'd brought in a local winemaker to do a tasting of wines (including a Brunello di Montalcino) and Tuscan salami etc. followed by a BBQ. The next night we had an outdoor meal of Tuscan food (followed by Spumante and Grappa from grapes on the farm!) and the third night we ate in the restaurant - this may only be a small, family run establishment, but the wine list (almost entirely local) would put most British restaurants to shame - and at very reasonable prices. Do look at the end wall in the restaurant - painted by the grandfather with family portraits in panels in a trompe l'oeil brick arch that reflects the other actual arches in the room. A shame that he passed away before he could finish it. The last night (Sunday) they have a day off, but were happy to recommend a restaurant a short(ish!) drive away - actually about 30 minutes, but well worth it! Andrea also recommended places to visit in Montepulciano (don't miss the tours of underground caves) and suggested a variety of other places to visit in the area. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. N.B. If you are addicted to your smart phone, be aware that you are out in the countryside in a fairly spread out property - they've done their best to provide WiFi, but the speed can be variable depending where you are / who else is using it. We didn't have a significant problem, but we weren't trying to stream videos or play online games! We were also impressed by the range of nationalities of other guests - French, Dutch, Belgians, Norwegians, Germans - and even Italians!
