The hotel rooms are roomy, clean and the large bed was comfortable (for European standards). However, rooms are located up a narrow staircase with no elevator. Rooms do not have air-conditioning. We requested a fan and received one. However, the open window was a source of constant noise. The hotel charged 72.00 Euros/night.

Clean, air-conditionned, well located auberge. In front of a cute bar/coffee shop called the Madragola. Friendly service. Stunning town: try to see the cliffs at night. The only drawback is there is no elevator service, but this was not a problem for my family and friends (we rented the entire place).

We thank these friendly guests who have enjoyed the comfort of our inn which has a nice bar right in front and others nearby. Sorry, but in an old medieval tower is just not possible to put the elevator! Bye, bye! More

Roberto, the owner, had me waiting for an hour before he reopened in the afternoon. In fairness, though, I hadn't confirmed my hour of arrival. Other than this, for 45€/night it's excellent. No breakfast, but there's a good bar fifty feet from the hotel's door. My room was small, but clean, comfy, and with a nice view of the piazza.

We apologize for the delay. In our reservations system we always recommend to point out your arrival time to be able to promptly accommodate you, because the reception is not always open and take a day off on Tuesday. However the important thing is that our guests stay fine by us. Bye, bye. More

The room was fine. The air-con worked, there was a fridge. Clean and comfy. We were facing the main road but it was quiet at night. We had asked for a view room when we booked but that didn't happen. It was okay though. Parking was just up the road towards the market. Free on the sides of the road.... More

What a charming little place to stay, in a breathtakingly beautiful Tuscan hill town! We arrived right around sunset, and Il Tufo Rosa was VERY easy to find. We spent a night in Pitigliano as part of our honeymoon trip through Tuscany, and decided on Il Tufo Rosa based on the reviews on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful. They directed us to the nearest public car park, which was a short walk from the hotel (and free). We were shown to our room... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"The Tufo Rosa" offers hospitality in elegant and furnished rooms of a restored house in the old bastion of the Orsini Fortress of Pitigliano in Tuscan Maremma, where the two dominant elements of our past are joined together. "The Tufo" represents the origins, our roots, since the beginning of the world; "the Rose", heraldic symbol of Orsini Counts, Lords of Pitigliano, reminds us tales from the Middle Age and the Renaissance. The characteristic of these rooms is that they are dedicated to some Countess of the past, and every detail inside them contributes to recreate ancient atmospheres. Every room is equipped of independent services, heating, Tv and some also have air conditioning, and mini-bar, for a good stay. The guest - house "Il Tufo Rosa" is opened all year long. ... more   less
