We have stayed in many fine hotels all over the world, but the welcome and the service we have received here was second to none. The hotel and its fine restaurant owned by the Iaccarino family. Were greeted by Signora Livia who is one of the most fantastic and charismatic persons we have ever met. Each corner of the hotel,... More

The driver kept going, one hilltop hairpin turn after another, must have been about an hour from the airport, but then, we arrived. An oasis in a small town way above Sorrento. Right next to the church, the hub of the town, which woke us with a cacophony of pealing bells @ 7am on Sunday. Plenty of shops, restaurants, even... More

How could one place get all the magical ingredients ? The villa bourgeois, in a small and typical Italian village opens-up its doors to share the best with its guest. We received a very warn welcome. We were more than happy to be able to receive exclusive insight of their passion for their land, for their cultural legacy and love... More

Don Alfonso is a place I stay and eat since many years. Owners are close friends. It was perfect 20 years ago and it is perfect now. Attention to details, perfect food with stars, great service, friendly owners, dedication to the place.. This makes everything PERFECT!

This is without a doubt my favorite hotel in the world. I spent 2 nights here, driving through from Sorrento to Positano. It was the best decision ever. For some reason I had imagined this place to be more secluded, so was a bit surprised to find it in the middle of town on a busy-ish road. However, once inside... More

I randomly read a recommendation for this hotel at Fathomaway.com and booked it for two nights on our 17 days roadtrip in Italy. Don Alfonso is situated in a small town 20 min from Sorrento by car (in the hills between Sorrento and Positano). A lovely place to escape the more busy and touristic Amalfi coastline. Don Alfonso 1890 is... More

Charming, luxurious, homely and sophisticated! This place is truly special. A Relais & Châteaux hotel, located in a quaint little village, away from the crowds and tourists. We came here for our honeymoon and everything was perfect, including their Michelin starred restaurant. Our meal was exquisite and a special event all of it's own! Every dish was an incredible creation.... More

This is our first time to choose a boutique hotel from Relais & Chateaux. This was one of the best decisions of my lifetime. Unlike those classic or standardised hotel from international chains, Relais don alfonso was very charismatic. It is different in terms of the whole concept. Almost everything in the hotel is pink, yet its a soft pink... More

I have no words that can truly describe our experience at Don Alfonso 1890. My husband went to the Amalfi Coast for our 10 year anniversary. Our first two nights on our trip were spent at the Don Alfonso. Everything was perfect. We had the luxury of getting the Poetry House, which was such a unique hotel experience. Everything was...
