We decided to stay in Trim on our last day. Did not realize there was so much to see and do here. Braveheart was shot in Trim Castle. The bed and breakfast is a little old, but very clean and well maintained. The staff is...More
Geraldine and Eddie are wonderful hosts. Breakfast in the Victorian-appointed breakfast room was a pleasure. A short walk to Trim Castle, Yellow Tower, and the village. Be sure to take walking trails along the river.
Spent a wonderful first night in this beautiful B & B. Excellent breakfast, the Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The driveway to the house with the beautifully planted flowers is an eye opener itself. Just the perfect start for our way to further destinations...More

I can only answer first question. We drove from Trim to airport and even though everyone said it took 35 minutes it took us more than an hour. We left at 8:15 AM and we thought there must be a horrible accident because traffic came to a complete standstill for 15 minutes. We never saw an accident but it was horribly congested and the worst traffic I've seen--and we live in a heavily congested area.
And you didn't ask, but FYI, returning to US, plan extra time at Dublin airport since you go through US customs in Ireland and it's long and thorough.
