Our stay couldn't have been better.. The setting is beautiful and is a walkable distance from Trim Castle, the shops and restaurants in the town, and the bus stop. The furnishings are comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. Best of all, the owner Marie is a wonderful host. She can tell stories about the filming of Braveheart and Star Wears,...

Stayed night of September 17, 2016 Perfect location for our first evening in Ireland. After arriving at Dublin airport about 10:30 we rented a car. Visited and participated in the tours at Newgrange and Trim Castle. Tigh Cathain is a short and easy drive from both locations as well as the town of Trim. Mary gave us a warm welcome...

A quaint old house with a charming innkeeper. Marie and her husband are awesome. The full Irish breakfast was over the top... lots of homemade goodies, pleasant conversation with Marie.... Marie offered us quite a bit of advice on places to tour in the area. Our room was more than sufficient. Just a little outside of downtown Trim, which is...

Tigh Cathain was a good final stop and close to the airport. You have to drive into town, but we were good with that after walking mikes and miles across Ireland. The breakfast choices were good and the beds comfortable. Trim just was not our favorite place on our trip.

My husband and I stayed at Tigh Cathain for 2 nights after arriving at Dublin airport from the US. An easy drive in an unfamiliar rental car on the L-H side. Comfortable, spacious room; delicious breakfast; friendly, helpful hostess. A grand introduction to Ireland.

We spent 2 weeks in Ireland and all but 2 of the nights were in B&B's. The proprietor was by far the most friendly of the bunch. We had to leave before the breakfast was served so she gave us coffee and scones on our way out.

We stayed at Tigh Cathain our last two nights in Ireland. I must say we saved the best for last.! Mary was a wonderful innkeeper. Our room was something out of a picture book. My wife said she "felt like a princess" in our room. The setting was close enough to walk to the Trim Castle, although my wife's bum...

Thanks to Martin at a pub downtown he directed us here....THE MOST WONDERFUL PLACE. MARIE was enchanting, our room was like a fairy tale...My husband and sat in the living room for a quiet glass of wine..she sat out glasses for us. The breakfast was something you really picture at a quaint b&b.. ANYONE should want to stay here..

Marie is a superlative host. Marie's family home is in a peaceful location 3 minutes from downtown Trim. During our delicious breakfast we enjoyed eating and conversing with the other guests. Marie provided us with good information about things to see and restaurants for dinner. Trim is in a good location for day trips to many historic highlights of Ireland.

“Like all other B&B's we've visited there is a hair dryer provided. Look for it in the drawer of the dresser instead of in the bathroom.”
