We'd booked overnight stay with dinner in Vanilla Pod restaurant, lovely room, quiet, real bath with local Kells toiletries and big comfy bed. Quiet drink afterwards in hotel lounge with real open fire

Stayed in the Headfort Arms Hotel. Family run hotel, staff very friendly in manner and service. We ate both nights in the hotel and food was very good. We were there mid week and the hotel was very busy. Good buzz around the bar. Might be a little noisey at the weekend if you are in the rooms fronting the...

So first impression is hotel looks lovey from the outside...... though upon entering not what we expected. Private car back. So welcoming and the staff were wonderful. We had lunch shortly after arriving and it was plentyful and reasonable priced. There was a funeral, confirmation and a fashion awards on in the hotel but the staff were great on organising...

We stayed here after a wedding reception in the hotel - I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel didn't look like much from outside but was actually really lovely. Nothing overly fancy but room was nice - spacious & clean etc. Couldn't quite understand the pricing though - we were in a family room (2 adults 1 child) which had a...

Booked a massage and afternoon treat for myself and my friend as her Xmas present. After bad and unprofessional service in the restaurant before hand, we had the spa treatment which was lovely before going for afternoon tea, where items were taken from our plate and ate by a person passing our table. I was disgusted, embarrassed and felt sick...

Bar was buzzing evening though it was midweek. Hotel room was really nice but bathroom class with the large bath in it, separate from a stand alone shower. Well worth visit...

Pop into the bar on occasion when I'm in Kells. Very nice and comfortable surroundings. Really clean. The food however is not great. Very mayonnaise based. The one thing though that really puts me off is how everyone ignores you when you enter the bar. You have to beg for a menu and for your order to be taken. Was...

We recently had our Daughters Christening in the Headfort on Sunday 19th March. We were giving the beautiful function room to the back of Reception and off the Bar. I was just in awe with the set up and presentation of the room, it was fabulous. Just the attention to detail just made our day memorable. The food was fantastic...

In the Heritage Town Kells, the Duff family celebrate 40 years at the helm of one of Meath’s hospitality landmarks in the Heart of the Boyne Valley of Ireland. The hotel boasts 45 bespoke rooms, Headfort Spa Rooms, Vanilla Pod Award Winning Restaurant, Cafe Therese Casual Dining Cafe, Kelltic Bar Traditional Pub, Banquesting Facilities and beautiful gardens . Those years of commitment to excellence was recognized not only by its Gold Medal Award for Best Three-Star hotel Ireland, but also most recently at the Kells Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, when receiving the award of ‘Best Customer Service’in Business. ‘We were delighted with this award said Olivia, as it is thanks to all of our loyal team of staff who offer the Headfort welcome and service to our guests, old and new’. The Headfort is the life and sole of the Kells social scene. It offers so much to its visitors in it’s selection of outlets from the Award Winning Vanilla Pod Restaurant to the thriving Kelltic Bar and the Headfort Spa Rooms which focuses on using only Irish products. According to the Duff family, it’s not easy doing business at the moment, price competition is relentless and the customer has never had such choice but the Headfort is committed to providing value, supporting local producers and retaining the personal touch on every guest encounter. The hotel is delighted to report an upsurge in bookings for 2013, according to Vincent ‘the customer really wants the personal touch, the knowledge that you are there on their special day and that family run atmosphere, they have been and tasted the large branded chain hotels and we feel there is a return to good Irish hospitality and a guarantee of freshly prepared local food’ As a member of Irish Country Hotels, the 26 Independent hotel marketing group, the Headfort is one of only 26 hotels in Ireland and the first service industry in Ireland to receive the accreditation of being ‘Guaranteed Irish’. This is demonstrated in the hotels commitment to using local suppliers, employing local and using local and Irish produce at every opportunity. In this way the hotel serves as an even greater support to the local economy and there is no doubt that this is what the customer wants for the future. ... more   less
