It is the first time when i meet people like this in my life. The staff are amazing, we were with our 1year old dother and all the staff helped us with everything that we need for the baby plus they play with her every day. The food is perfect for a small hotel, very tasty and fresh. The rooms are clean and big with sea view. Also, the beach is one step from the room basicaly and the service on the beach is very good. I'v seen alot of hotels of entire world and i never feeld so happy and relaxed like i did in this hotel.

Me and my wife spent two weeks in this wonderful hotel and had a great holiday. this was our first trip to Thassos and we weren't disappointed. the hotel is in a great location right on the beach in Skala Rachoni,it had all the facilities we needed. the room was clean and comfortable with a walk in shower and great bed. Air con is extra but cheap we also had a fridge,TV and a kettle Good view from the balcony. Outside there is a good pool with a pool bar which also serves food and plenty of sunbeds and tables and chairs. There are also sunbeds on the beach which are 2 Eur but you get a free drink from The bar. Breakfast is served in the restaurant downstairs and was good with a choice of hot and cold dishes. Dinner is taken by the pool bar and was good with 4 choices every night. If you want to eat out there are several good Tavernas within walking distance, also nearby is a mini market and pharmacy. we would love to return but no British travel agent is going to this hotel now. Special mention for the staff Carlos the manager who moved us to a ground floor room as my wife was struggling with the stairs,Stelios and Kllevis the barmen, Angela the waitress and all the maids and the ladies in the kitchen who all went out of the way to make us welcome.. Also a big thanks to the Thomas Cook reps who despite losing there jobs made sure we got home.

Room Tip: get a ground floor room if stairs are a problem as there is no lift.

The Mediterranean is a 3 star hotel and this is a really beautiful island. The hotel is located on a premier beach location where the beach is sandy and the water safe and clean. Some of the rooms have been recently refurbished and others are ready for refurbishment, but all are clean and functional. A great strength are the very friendly and helpful staff who engender a 'family' atmosphere. After all, this is a very small hotel. Food was always plentiful and where appropriate, served hot. However, do not expect a great culinary experience as most cooking was pretty basic. It is an easy walk to a small selection of Tavernas, if that is what you prefer to do. There is very little to do in the evening apart from eat and drink, so expect a relaxing time. In fact, this hotel is ideal for those seeking a relaxing and no frills beach holiday in a beautiful location. If you want to see the rest of the island there is a bus stop 5 minutes walk away and car hire is easily organised. Car hire is easy to sort out and Avis will deliver to the hotel, but you won't need a car for more than 3 days, this is a small island and you can see all that you want to see in a short period of time. Getting to the hotel for the main land is simple. Drive on ferries are frequent and the simplest crossing takes only about 40 minutes. You can expect a transfer time form the mainland airport at Kavala of about 20 minutes, either side of the airport.

We have just returned from our too short a holiday to Mediterranean Hotel Thassos, From the moment you arrive Karolos was there to greet you, and everyday he was always about talking to everyone making sure all was ok,.... you dont get that in many hotels.......All the staff work very hard and were always happy to see you. Food was good and the evening meal outside by the beach was excellent with the view of the sun setting. We met some great people here it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere you could not have asked for more..... The only sad thing is we wont be able to return as Thomas Cook were pulling out from this hotel and Thassos ...but thanks to Karolos and the whole team for making this holiday.

We have just returned home from our first visit to Thassos, what a beautiful island! We will definetley visit again & hope it keeps its authentic Greek ways. We booked this holiday in May as a spontaneous trip abroad as it was such a good deal & the majority of these reviews sold it to us. This was our first family holiday with our 16 month old toddler. It couldnt have been more perfect! We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel & I question if some of the other reviews even stayed in the same place. Carlos (manager) had no problems helping & sorting anything we needed! The bar staff that apparently hardly talk (I personally dont go away to chat to bar staff but hey.) They were so friendly with not just us but everyone and especially our little boy. If he got bored during dinner they would bring him stuff to play with, play hide and seek or fist pump! In fact all of the staff were great and the cleaners kept the rooms spotless. The dinner setting is beautiful we could not believe the gorgeous beach right on the door step and the sunsets at this island and especially here, beautiful. Our bedroom view was second to non, people pay alot for a seaview room like we had. Personally we dont normally do half board but for the price we couldnt not, it was the standard 3* food we expected nothing less but nothing more. We found having breakfast useful and ate out 3 nights because it's so so so CHEAP! If your really fussy about food or big holiday foodies like us just eat out, within walking distance there are some fantastic beach front taverns for 2 adults 1 toddler couple of dishes for starter and main, drinks free puddings your looking at €30-€35 for fantastic Greek food and sea food. The room are basic, traditional Greek rooms, nothing fancy but done the job. The place was ideal for our little boy & the residents seemed like family, everyone was happy to be on holiday and enjoy themselves or each other and it was so nice to not here any moaners around. I think the atmosphere from all the staff and this hotel really made everyone that way. We would happily recommend this hotel to others & if you want to feel like your actually in Greece and not England in the sun this place is for you!! To Carlos & the team you simply made our first family trip abroad PERFECT!
