We stayed here last month as part of an Intrepid Travel tour of Costa Rica. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but it was tucked away on the ground floor in a corner, so we saw little daylight and never saw the sun. Hot and cold water with the shower was hit and miss. Signs in the rooms warn of...

I stayed here for two nights during my time in Monteverde and the hotel is really great! All of he front desk staff made reservations for me for tours and gave me recommendations on places to eat and nightlife. Smaller room but they are an eco friendly hotel, but the hot shower, free parking, ease of locations, and free hot...

Hotel is a short walk ( big hill) out of town. It is located near many of the natural parks around Monteverde. Transportation via taxi is inexpensive. The staff cannot do enough to help you enjoy your stay. They answered endless questions from us and gave us great advice. The rooms are clean but the beds are not very comfortable....

A wonderful place where you can enjoy the fresh air of the Rain Forest of Monteverde, with very spectacular people working there! The rooms are very nice and perfect to stay some nights in the middle of one the craziest places in Costa Rica.

A great hotel just minutes walk from Santa Elena, with extremely helpful and friendly staff where nothing is to much trouble. Good room in a block of 4 looking out onto the gardens with humming birds collecting nectar amongst the flowers, a peaceful and relaxing location. Breakfast was the usual for Costa Rica,rice/ beans scrambled eggs plus-sausage or bacon also...

Good Hotel with decent breakfast. The rooms are large, however, the lighting with the room was a bit poor. There was no safe available in the room. Friendly staff and a sloth on the property! Can recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 1 night during very stormy weather. We were greeted by a lovely chap on reception (sorry cannot remember his name). Our room wasn't quite ready but we were given tea and coffee whilst we waited. Given the weather was so bad we were unable to do any outdoor activities but the receptionist gave us plenty of...

Charming & quaint location. No frills / amenities in the rooms, but a lovely area for dining (and breakfast included). Due to location, I imagine, the room was unfortunately quite musty. Lastly, in event you have small children or are a light sleeper, the sound carries greatly from room to room (from all angles) and the garden.

We stayed there for 2 nights and loved it! The receptionist gave us a lot of information on what activities were available. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were spacious and comfortable! I would go there again!

The Hotel Cipreses is a gem! The grounds are beautifully-appointed, the rooms are comfortable, the staff is very accommodating and personable, and the town of Santa Elena is a quick 5-10 minute walk away. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast bar and the company of Bella, the property's sweet beagle.

“Don't let the lights on if you don't want somebody in your room. This is a "green" hotel We went to eat and left just one light on and when we're coming back we saw a man coming out of our room, apparently he was turning the lights off. I don't think they should do that because you're paying for your room. ”
