a well appointed, well run hotel in Monteverde. We stayed two nights, and service was fine, the rooms large, clean and comfortable. There was a lack of atmosphere in the place - mostly the clients were in tour groups (like us!) and we didn't really feel the hotel had character. It was the closest to a business hotel we found...

This hotel could be such a lovely one, but it doesnt quite make it. The settting is lovely, location ideal, and first impressions are good. reception area large and impressive, but the dining room is equally large but very impersonal, lacking character. Food reasonable, and good choice for breakfast. Reasonable choice for dinner. The bare is dreadful - can only...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour. The room was clean with a giant bath tub but we couldn't work the plug! Breakfast and lunch compared well with other hotels in the area. It was great to hear the dawn chorus with a variety of sounds. The trail round the grounds was amazing as we saw...

We stayed here for 2 nights , we had 2 rooms and they were sufficient for our needs, they were in the main building nothing fancy. We saw no swimming pool or hot tub or any other amenities. We stayed here with a group of about 25 just after Christmas 2012. We used this as a base of operations for seeing the sights around St. Elena. We ate dinner here twice. We ordered off the menu and everything was great. Breakfasts were a fixed menu. We were served as we arrived so we didn't need to eat en...

This hotel is located in between Santa Elena and Monteverde. A bit of a walk to both places. The room was spacious comfortable and had a fridge. No lock box in the room but we felt safe and didn't need one. We had a view of a valley and enjoyed the many birds that came to the tree by our...

Up on a hill, isolated. Nice views, clean. No pool, no hot tub. Towels frayed, some had holes. Bed was like sleeping on a rock.No shampoo, conditioner, or lotion offered. Soap is in dispensers. Would look for something else.

We spent 2 nights here during our trip to Costa Rica. The hotel room was spacious and well equipped and we were able to dry laundry by opening windows to get a breeze through, even though it was raining most of the time. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful.

Not fancy, but the room was clean and spacious with a porch that looked out over the mountains to the Pacific ocean. The hotel lobby was nicely appointed and open. There is a nice little bar off to the side in a separate building with a TV and chairs - and very reasonable beer. The dining room looks out over...

Me and my boyfriend just came back from Monteverde and we stayed @ Montaña Hotel. We had a great time, rooms are clean. Breakfast was good. Staff excellent (specially Silvia Chavarria). Many different tours to choose from, and most of them include transportation from and back to the hotel.
