Lovely B&B near the centre of town. Clean rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Perhaps ventilation of the bedrooms could be improved upon, as they were very small and close. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from the terrace.Breakfast was delicious and included in the hotel price. Free coffee and tea all day long. We would definitely stay there again.

Booked online for a one night stay within Monteverde, we didn't have many expectations, how wrong we were. Greeted on arrival by one of the friendliest, most helpful and informative hotel staff I have ever encountered. Although our rooms were not available, we were offered complimentary coffee, tea (which is available 24/7) and given every piece of information we could...

Camino Verde was the perfect place to stay in Monteverde. Jose was so friendly and helped us book all of our tours and excursions. He made it so easy for us. The rooms were clean, the common area was great for hanging out and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend.

My boys and I stayed here last weekend at the tail end of our Costa Rica trip. We really liked it. The staff was great and willing to help book any excursion. The location is really convenient - maybe a 5 minute walk to downtown. Breakfast each morning was delicious and my kids (12, 13) loved that the wifi at...

Stayed here for 4 nights in March/April 2017. We had a quadruple room - double and two bunks with en-suite bathroom. Room and bathroom were very clean. Our only complaints and the reason we only gave 4 stars would be that the room was very cramped with no space to unpack suitcases and store things and the top bunk, which...

We stayed for 2 nights in Camino verde. The hostel in a good place, with nice views on the mountains. The staff was really nice, they give you a lot of information and were helpful when we had to contact our car hiring company for a little problem. The rooms although are very very small. We had a room with...

The staff was very friendly and always willing to help book an excursion or give advice. Nice room and great location, about a 5 minute easy walk to town! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone coming to the area.

Ditto on all the other nice reviews for Camino Verde - I won't repeat it all but full agree on all the favourable points. I would add, this B&B is very cool, quaint and kinda funky. The architecture is really interesting and the rooms lovely. The vibe at the hotel is comfortable, feels like home. The staff are laid back,...

My fiancé and I stayed 4 nights at Camino Verde B&B and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. We booked a shuttle through the B&B from San Jose airport. Both men on reception were really friendly and helpful- you get given a map which shows you all the local attractions, most of which pick you up from the...

Great location, helpful staff, attractive communal spaces, great views, AND best breakfast of all 5 hotels where I stayed while in Costa Rica. It is just a little outside of town, so a little less noisy than in the town of Santa Elena, but only a short walk away. Great small family owned restaurant next door. Easy access to all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner's family home which gave inspiration to this 'Tica House' designed hotel. The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town. FACILITIES: Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. ... more   less

“Our room: private bathroom (some have shared); quiet hallway; no AC (the fan is sufficient). There is street noise, but we slept well.”
  • Large armoire is useful. Mirror near electrical outlets would be good (no bathroom outlet)
  • the hallway to some of the rooms (ours was just past these chairs on the left)
