Super service and highly recommended for everyone. Steven, Buddhika, Sanjeewa, Thittho helped us along with all other staff. Highly recommended. Chef Dilshan's foods are amazing. Safe place even for Solo travellers. Very comfortable, calm and quite place. Perfect for beach lovers.
Our stay at Frangipani Tree was fantastic beyond words! From the time we arrived to when we said goodbye, we received friendly and attentive service. They even gave us a room upgrade to ensure comfort and privacy for my wife and I. The room was clean, spacious, and had a view like no other! Because of the slowdown caused by COVID-19, their menu was limited, but they went out of their way to satisfy our cravings, and the food was delicious! Last but definitely not least, a big thank you out to Buddhika, Sampath, and Jagath, for the wonderful service they provided us with. I must say, both my wife and I will dearly miss Hill Girl, the friendly resident dog at the villa.
We arrived at Frangipani Tree having spent the previous 3 days in Yala. Our welcome was relaxed and friendly and we were delighted to see that we had been upgraded to a seaview room. The room had a large terrace with plenty of seating and a table and chairs. Perfect for looking out to the sea and watching the occasional lizard wander by! The outdoor bathroom was magical with a large shower and bathtub, don't be put off by the outdoors bit, it's very private! Breakfast was plentiful and the lunch/dinner menu also very good although quite expensive compared to local restaurants. However, this is understandable given the location and service. The hotel is directly on the very quiet beach which is great for turtle spotting and watching the stilt fishermen. Our wedding was arranged with the help of the fabulous Steven Neydorff, who kept in contact with us whilst we were still in the UK, to confirm the details and reassure us. We wanted a quiet ceremony, barefoot in the sand and this is exactly what we got. The whole experience was so much more than we had expected, it was perfect. We were due to travel to a different hotel for the final week of our holiday but they contacted us the night before to say that they were closing due to Covid 19. This was the case for all of the surrounding hotels and we found ourselves with nowhere to go. The management at the hotel made some 'phone calls and said that we could stay with them for the rest of our holiday. We had to be cleared by the local hospital so that we could remain and this was all organised by the brilliant Lakmal. By this time, the whole country was under curfew so we were the only guests, along with nine staff and of course the beautiful resident dog. We thank you so much Steven, Lakmal, Jagarth and the rest of the fantastic staff for keeping us safe at such a challenging time for everybody. I know that you couldn't travel home at that time due to the curfew but hope that you have now managed to see your loved ones. Keep safe Frangipani, looking forward to seeing you all again very soon.…
An absolutely charming hotel with a stellar location on the southern beaches of sri lanka. Effortless beach access, beautiful large pool, and impeccable staff make this hotel a hidden gem. With relatively small number of total rooms, a quiet getaway makes for perfect relaxation. The food quality is also fantastic, authentic. You will not go wrong here!
This is the way to enjoy an Indian Ocean beach in a high quality boutique hotel with only 9 rooms without breaking the bank! The setting is magnificent, we would recommend the chalet style rooms with a view of the sea (but not the beach as there is a grass ridge - which you can sit on top of which is lovely especially at sunset), and the sound of the crashing waves. As others have mentioned these have outdoor but covered (except for the bath) bathrooms which work very well - do not be put off by this. Food is excellent and the service friendly. The only important consideration is that you cannot swim from this beach due to the rocky sea bed and strength of the waves and it is a bit of walk to get to where you can, in places a little tricky at high tide. If this is not a problem we would highly recommend this hotel.…
