My boyfriend and I stayed at dunes for two nights and we had the loveliest time. Its very conveniently located, close to the beach but quiet at the same time. The rooms are comfy and gorgeous and the garden is dreamy. Breakfast is superb, and the coffee is supeeeer good (french press). The owners are extremely nice and honest people....

We spent 4 nights at the Dunes Unawatuna Hotel. Clearly, this hotel is not like most others in Unawatuna. It has a classic modern design where everything seems to flow together and complement each other....from the bath towels, the floor mats, the bedding, the furniture, the table settings. The hotel is set slightly back from the road on relatively expansive...

We stayed at the Dunes Hotel for 2 nights in January 2017 and cannot recommend it enough. The hosts (a husband and wife team) are lovely and ensured we had all the necessary information regarding our stay and the local area. Beach towels are provided before you head to the beach, and even use of a collection of sun creams...

We were lucky enough to stay here in August 2016, we walked in off the street and booked into this oasis of nature and friendly atmosphere of this family run auberge. The lovely couple who built, run and own it cannot do enough of you. I had problem with my laptop and as I needed to work, they kindly lent...

Class Act Hotel My girlfriend and I stayed Dunes 3 nights this past December and the hotel, staff and location were top notch. The Dunes is situation on nearly an acre of land, and unlike hotels in the area it was not an overbuilt concrete slab which seems to be the norm in Unawatuna. The Dunes is built mostly from...

Set back from the main road with rooms looking on to a garden Dunes is a great place to stay in Unawatuna. A great breakfast with an opportunity to watch the wildlife is an excellent way to start the day, the beach is only a short walk away and Galle a short ride. Ask the knowledgeable hosts advice to get...

We found ourselves here on the recommendation of two people we met on our travels around Sri Lanka and we were not disappointed. On arrival we sat on the veranda over looking the pond having welcome drinks. Our room was away from the main building and was one of 2 adjoining rooms. It was of high spec with air con...

This place is amazing, the attention to detail makes it perfect. That staff are amazing. I have found it difficult to find anything wrong with it. A little hideout with a pond that host some amazing wildlife. From mongoose to chipmunks and kingfishers and other amazing birds. The small things count for me. The present when you leave to tubes...

This place is run by a very nice and helpful couple. Very nice place to reach both Galle and Unawatuna beach. Away from the busier stretch of the beach, but walking distance anyhow if you feel like partying. Breakfast is fabulous, with various options both local and international.

Gayan and Jane are very welcoming hosts of the wonderful hotel. We liked it so much so came here once more. Dunes is cozy, clean and picturesque place surrounded with real jungle trees where a lot of animals live. We saw monkeys, squirrels, peacocks, lizards and many beautiful birds. Breakfasts are delicious. Highly recommended!
