My second journey to Sri Lanka was now, March 2021, and I deliberately have chosen the UTMT as my second quarantine hotel. It was like three and half years ago: very pleasant, nice location, very good food, very good service and some amenities like a big, usable pool, afternoon tea and cakes/fruit, free phone calls, yoga lessons etc. The rooms are extremely interesting, with lots of detail, and with a small private pool. All together the premise is exceptional as are their prices; I could come more often if there wasn't the price ... I have to think twice ... what a pity.

I stayed in UTM in March 21 for 3 nights. Despite the Covid situation everything was really smooth and worked fantastic. Especially the service in the restaurant was great. a big thanks and appreciation goes to Sanath, who takes care of the guests very well. You could easily see and feel his wide range experience and knowledge he has in the service industry. Big thumbs up for this quality

Amazing place with an absolutely amazing staff. They made our anniversary super special with such attention to detail. Front office staff to the chef was simply outstanding. And the views are to die for. The whole thing took off with the most amazing welcome drink we have ever had.

My wife and I visited here as their first customers right after they opened post CoViD-19 and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel looks great and has a very mellow atmosphere. The wood, stone and batik theme thought-out the hotel adds a very calming and classical mood. They have done a good job with the placement and color accents. The staff is super, super nice. Starting from the hotel manager, front desk, restaurant manager, Chef and everyone working there were all extremely friendly and made our stay very pleasant. When it comes to the room, we got room 5 and is the room with the best view of the beach. The room is very nice with an amazing design. The food is set menu and not buffet but I don't think I would have had a meal this filling and this good if it were any different. The food tastes amazing and the food just kept coming with all the dishes catered so that they complement each other. Overall I'm very happy with my choice of this hotel and I'm a bit sad that I didn't have enough time to experience all that the hotel had to offer.

We booked a double bedroom villa with pool for 7 days. Hotel online looked nice and a/c was important. Unfortunately, the two rooms are connected by a living room and the entrance to the bathroom without a/c - here we were also very surprised to have window slats with no net or glass behind and an open roof shower, which could not be closed off. Being on the ground floor, it felt like an open invitation for animals to enter. When we broached the issue with the manager Ani she dismissed all our concerns with no empathy or understanding of how young children's fears work. The spa, housekeeping and restaurant staff were lovely and almost made up for the incomprehensible treatment from management. PS: We did indeed have visitors everyday, which included a massive frog, handful of bees, a couple of caterpillars and several geckos on top of mosquitos.
