Location - 2 half hours from Lahad Datu down track that was bumpy but not too bad as a very comfy truck. In the middle of primary rainforest reserve Property - Open wooden and very pretty in amazing setting that was simply stunning Rooms - We upgraded to deluxe river view and we're pleased we did despite the expense. The...

Your first warm welcome will be a daily affair. The staff strives for top rate customer service, and delivers it. Paul was our exceptional guide, and provided us excellent looks of birds, mammals and reptiles as we toured the Park with him. Elephants visited while we were there. No wifi in room, but there is wifi in the main lodge.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in a deluxe chalet with river view. We really enjoyed the rainforest and our peaceful room. The food was good but not that special. I wish they had even more vegetarian options. The mango (virgin) drink was to die for. The introductions could have been better and more serious. I can't...

We were very happy with our two night stay at Danum Valley lodge. The rooms and food were of a good standard given the location and need to truck everything in and out. I had hoped to see more wild animals, perhaps we get a bit misguided by watching the National Geography Channel, however the guides tried their hardest for...

My wife and me have fallen in love with this place!!! We had been to this destination for our honeymoon last year and it was the best choice we made. Its must visit for honeymoon couples, friends and families. It was a hidden paradise in the midst of the dense rainforest of Danum Valley. After driving for almost 3.5 hrs...

Had a blast of a time at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. We see wild animals roaming around the lodges, and the guides were extremely good. Although there is no TV and cell reception is minimal (we had to hike up to a point about 40 minutes away for reception), you will find plenty to do in this place. Especially recommended for...

Yes, this is a more expensive option jungle option then going to somewhere like the Kinabatangan river, and your chances of seeing orangutang and other larger mammals is probably less likely, but that's because you're in the deep jungle known as virgin rainforest. The forest is so dense and the trees so tall that spotting birds and primates/monkeys alike is...

This lodge is surprisingly up-market considering the 2 hour jungle drive to get there! The animal spotting experiences were interesting and fortunately did not seem to warrent the leech-socks though perhaps that was just luck of the relatively dry time we visited. I suspect that more patience and quieter transport might have uncovered more wildlife as we heard more than...

It is a long trip on an unsealed road to get there but it is worth it. Your chance of seeing wildlife up close is less than on the Kinabatangan river but we were still lucky enough to see orang utans, red leaf monkeys, elephants, deer, the wonderful slow lauris, a range of weird and wonderful creepy crawlies including a...

First of all there is a 2.5 hour drive on rough roads to get from civilisation to this isolated lodge. Once you arrive in a clearing in the jungle it makes the journey worthwhile. The staff were very helpful and pleasant which seems to be the norm in Sabah. Well done! Once we were allocated chalets we were escorted to them...
