Our holiday unit was Bobby Dazzler. The spacious unit was immaculate and accommodated our requirements perfectly. Jane and Michael know how to make a couple feel welcome. They are proud of the region and generously share all it has to offer. We really had a fun time in Rubyvale, fossicking the gem fields. We enjoyed a morning brew, learned valuable tips on how to dig, wash, sieve, flip, inspect and reveal. We discovered many plain ‘ol rocks but we’re lucky enough to get some pretty sapphires. After a hard days yakka, a well earned cold beer at the local pub, a juicy Qld steak on the pristine BBQ, a steaming hot shower and a comfy big bed at the Rubyvale Motel & Holiday Units is the jewel in the crown.

We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights. From check in to check out our hosts were excellent and helpful. Our cabin was spacious and clean. Morning sun graced the porch and wildlife was around to help with breakfast. When we travel in this area again this is the place we will stay. Rubyvale is a small town but we found things to do including a successful fossicking expedition.

We had the pleasure of staying at Rubyvale Motel for two nights early this month. Some places just grab you, and this was one of those places. From the time we checked in until the time we left, this place ticked all the boxes for us. Excellent first contact upon arrival, followed by a very clean fully equipped 2 bedroom self contained unit. A great kitchen with all the appliances, including a stove and utensils. The bed is very comfy (the one bedroom unit wasn't available at the time of booking). The night sky is absolutely stunning. Just walk out the front and sit in a fold out chair with a beer/wine, cheese and bickies and just stare into the Milky Way. We took up the option of the observatory at night with Michael ($45.00 pp), which was well worth the $$$. A very good explanation of the stars outdoors with a lazer with some excellent viewings through the telescope of Jupiter and Saturn and others, courtesy of the telescope. Want to hand feed wild lorikeets and wallabies? No problem. Just sit out the front of your unit and wait. We'll be back, nothing surer!

Located just down the road from the Heritage Mine attraction this motel is clean, spacious and well appointed. Motel grounds are well laid out with pool and BBQ area spotless. Owners were very friendly and helpful with local knowledge, especially about the gems to be found nearby. Wallaby's roam the grounds of a morning and evening. Rubyvale town and hotel are just a 3 minute drive away. We stayed for 2 nights.

Had a really lovely night at the Rubyvale Motel and units, would love to spend a week there, spacious, clean and tidy unit, pool and I think I glimpsed an observatory(arrived late and left by 10am) spotted little wallabies on our way to the pub for dinner!
