My mum, daughter and I stayed here again for four nights. The Balavil provides comfortable, clean accommodation in a warm, homely atmosphere. Fraser and his staff can't do enough for their guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. We highly recommend this hotel, it really is a gem in the beautiful Scottish Highlands and...

We stayed at the Balavil for two nights and found it clean comfortable and very welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was to be recommended. The hotel was convenient for our trip to Landmark and all other attractions in the Cairngorm area, Would have no problem recommending Balavil to any one and will definitely be...

Warm spacious bedrooms with a good television. Comfy settee to relax on. Large shower cubicle and lots of hot water, we even had a dressing room. Local beers, good if a small menu choice(we did expect this 'out of season'). Would stay again.

I've stayed in the hotel as a tour guide before but this month I booked the Balavil Hotel for the first time as a visitor. And in my opinion it is the best choice in the area: The rooms are clean and roomy, the beds are comfy and big, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is...

The hotel was very warm and welcoming. The staff were fantastic. Ours was a large room, with a huge bed. Everything was very clean, but basic. Don't expect luxuries. We found the bed extremely uncomfortable and the pillows hard, so didn't sleep brilliantly. Breakfasts were adequate, with variations on a Scottish breakfast, some lovely porridge, muffins, cereal etc, so we...

We come here every year for our annual ski/snowboarding trip. Fraser and the staff are always very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel is ideally located for walking or for getting over the Aviemore and Cairngorm for snow sports. We always have great food and hospitality here, we hope we have many more years visiting the Balavil, it is the best!

We went to the beautiful Newtonmore for a day trip and ended up at the Balavil hotel pub. It was a friendly, clean and welcoming establishment and very reasonably priced. The bar man on shift (tall, blonde and handsome) was great banter and very professional. We will definitely be returning!
