My husband and I stayed overnight here recently. One positive thing was the bathroom had been updated. The other positive thing was the smile we received from the chambermaid when we passed her by. Unfortunately this was balanced by the less than friendly welcome we received which was repeated when we booked out. Certainly no smiles there. Another was was...

This hotel was just a bit disappointing. The room was clean but noisy as we were right opposite the co-op, which had early deliveries; there was a lot of noise and shouting from the street on the Saturday night too. The breakfast was ok, not great, and the fruit salad came out of a tin rather than fresh fruit. The...

Very friendly hotel. Bar meals are home cooked, not extensive menu but plenty to choose from and a mini menu for we ones. The Balavil caters for veggie and gluten free easily. Not "pub co" food. Quiet area - no loud music!! Lovely thank you.

I stayed at Balavil with my young children as a stopover on way home from Western Ross. The rooms are very comfortable, modern and cosy. The kids and I loved the pool; it is small but very clean with great showers. The food was lovely and so staff friendly. Excellent value for money as you don't often get access to...

What a lovely time we had in Newtonmore. The Balavil was perfect for our needs, a clean, comfortable and welcoming family run hotel with helpful staff. The food was good, the whisky even better and our daughter loved the swimming pool. Special thanks go to Fraser, Eddy and Bryony, they made our stay special by going the extra mile without...

My family and I would come here at least once a year throughout my teens and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely, the staff friendly and willing to help anyway they can, whilst the whole place just had a great atmosphere. P.S. I loved the tartan carpet!

When we visited the hotel was very quiet. Good friendly service and value for money. Cody bar with WiFi that works, Nice relaxing stay and would recommend to others. Bedroom was warm, clean and looked after and even had a swim in their small pool which was nice and clean.
