Staying at Forest Lodges we saw this place on a review- we came for supper on Sunday. Great welcome, good service- lots of friendly staff. Lovely menu with lots of variety-something for everyone, all locally sourced. Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had! Mouthwatering chips- and all reasonably priced! After all you get what you pay for....

I and 3 friends took a walk up the hill from the Saracens Head Inn and around Symonds Yat for about 3.5 hours. We went up and down quite a bit and ended up for a late..ish lunch at 2.20pm at the Saracens. Latest lunch orders were at 2.30pm on a Monday , ...so we just made it...!!...the walk took...

Stopped here for lunch after a walk around Symonds Yak on a Sunday. Although it was busy the staff managed to find us a table and the food was amazing. I had the homemade burger which is the best burger I have eaten and the other half had the lamb roast dinner which he said was also delicious. Would highly...

Have been staying here for best part of 20 years and it still stands out. Had a lovely evening last week for the wife's 40th. Food, drink, service, accommodation and sarcasm are all second to none. Many of our guests were first timers and they all commented on what a great venue it was. Keep up the great work guys.

We spent another great week in the Forest of Dean area, we are family group of mixed ages who holiday in a local forest lodge and enjoy long walks with our family dog. We regularly use the Saracens Head because as the title suggests it is simply the best pub you could want for a holiday like this. Can we...

We've been visiting the Wye Valley for 20+ years and the Saracens is always on the itinerary. Definitely not the cheapest place any more but the location is pretty well unmatched and consequently worth it. Serves a great pint of the local Butty Bach ale. If the sun is shining then there aren't many better 'nooks of the realm' to...

My partner and I stayed on valentines weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it! There was only one room left when I rang, two single beds and without a river view for £89 which I thought was a bit steep! But the room was a decent size (larger than the double rooms surprisingly ) with a balcony which led up the hill...

Booked the Saracens Head as a last minute thing whilst on business in area. Very friendly and hospitable staff and owner. Excellent evening meal and cooked to order breakfast. Good range of real ales was a bonus. Room was very nice and spotless. I stay away a lot on business and this place is one of the best places I...

We went here lunch time because it's close by where we live, and we looked on their web site and found the menu very suitable for our needs. As I don't eat meat but occasionally have fish, the menu showed some dishes that took my eye. When we got there we noticed how the staff were all very young and...
