Stayed here for the purpose of visiting Padre Pio. Steps away from the church so very convenient for location. Church is just down the street. For accommodations, it is a very basic one. No 24 hour front desk availability. You are given a code to the door for access after 10 pm. Shower very small like cruise ship small. Basic continental breakfast. Basic room and board.

The facilities of the hotel were not as described on the website (air conditioning). The heating/cooling system in this hotel is centrally operated with no controls in individual rooms to alter the temperature. Room 105 was not habitable due to the excessive temperature of 30C at 11:00pm and we had no means of reducing the temperature in the room. The hotel staff did nothing to alleviate the situation. We did not get much sleep and decided we could not stay another 2 nights in a room at 30C. Nobody seemed interested in our concerns and they were not willing to help us, could not offer us another room or even a fan. We decided to check out at 9:30am next day. The lady at reception gave us an invoice for 3 nights + 3 days Parking + 3 days city tax!!! In the circumstances we were not willing to pay for 3 nights as the room did not meet the description (ie. No air conditioning). Then followed various phone calls between us, the hotel manager/owner, and booking.com. The manager/owner finally came to the premises but after 2 hours it was not resolved. We offered to pay 1 night + 1 day parking. The manager said he would take cash but would not provide a receipt, so we were not willing to hand over cash without a receipt. He was extremely rude and told us to go. At that stage we felt very uncomfortable leaving without paying anything. Later I find the hotel has gone ahead and charged us for 3 nights + 3 days Parking, charged to my Mastercard on the day we checked out. We do not think it is reasonable to charge the full amount for the room in this situation. Nor is it reasonable to charge for parking on days after we had left as this had not been pre-booked. The hotel manager/owner seemed more concerned about the commission he has to pay booking.com than about his guest’s comfort and satisfaction! After this experience we do not recommend this hotel - there are far better and more friendly places to stay in San Giovanni Rotondo.

"SIGNORE" Ha dimenticato di scrivere che ha lanciato il campanello d'ottone contro la signora Grazia, cameriera che si trovava nella hall per il riordino. Lo scriva!!! Assurdo.

We had 2 nights here as we visited the town . Location is perfect-2 minutes from St Padre Pio's Basilica near the bus terminus and shops. The staff were lovely -breakfast ample with fresh fruit and local pastries.Rooms lovely-quiet and very clean: more like a 4 star-so reasonable.

My experience with Hotel San Pio is overwhelmingly excellent. We were greeted by a warm lady (we forgot to get her name) who personally showed us to our room, the linens are crisp and clean and the comfort rooms are perfect. The breakfast is excellent as well and the coffee is great! We really love those Bavarian creme filled pastries for breakfast! The guy, Daniel, is very welcoming and even helped us in getting around the town and even offered us a tour to Mont San Angelo and yes if you're planning to go there after you've gone to Padre Pio ask them for a tour, that place is beautiful and is really spiritually powerful, it's a UNESCO World Heritage site after all. If you are coming from the station, the hotel has transfer service from the train station itself to the hotel and vice-versa, trust me it's cheaper compared to getting a cab at the station yourself. I wish we have stayed longer here because everything was really worth it. We're going back soon and their is no place we want to stay but here. Much love from your guests from the Philippines.

The location of this property in relation to the sanctuary and to the bus station is perfect! No stairs or hills to climb. The property is clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast is more than adequate. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
