Let's not beat around the bush here: this hotel is located in the middle of historic Monschau, which is a fantastic experience by itself. The building is fairy-tale looking from the outside and renovated from the inside. In theory, this could be a golden combination, one could argue. However, our room was already on the small side, but the bathroom...

There was no staff on hand to answer the locked door but a woman came from the restaurant next door to open up for us. Apparently, there is only staff in the morning to serve breakfast. Room was extremely basic, very dated and poor furnishings. Bed was comfortable, though. Wifi did not work up in the room, you had to...

Very friendly staff with clean rooms and nice bed. Location is in the center off the city, but so is almost every hotel, because of the smaal size of the village. Parking is a problem, so best to offload you bagage and then look for a parking place. Hotel has no reception, so be sure to check in between 12.00...

We stayed for one night in this lovely hotel, perfectly located in the center of Monschau. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. Very good beds. Breakfast was very good and complete. We went during the week so it was very quiet. We would definitely go back to Hotel Royal and recommand it to anyone going to Monschau....

I stayed here for one night with two friends and found it to be delightful. The hotel itself was charming and beautiful and set in a lovely cobbled street. We drove and found some street parking just a few minutes walk away from the hotel although it was quite busy so we were lucky to find a space. The breakfast...

during a long weekend in the region we stayed on the Hotel Royal for 3 nights. We were absolutely surprised by the location, fantastic scenery around the hotel, absolutely a charming little town tucked in between the Mountains. Iit's smaller hotel, kept in old style, it is very charming, Rooms were a Little basic with very quirky floors, apart from...

Great little hotel in centre of old town of Monschau. Rooms very clean and comfortable although shower room was a little small. Owners very pleasant and helpful. Great base for walking in the surrounding hills and forests and fantastic base for a racing weekend at nearby Spa-Francorchamps (26 miles away). Loads of cafes and restaurants in the town.

I stayed one night in a 24 hour visit to Monschau, which is very cute and has more cafes than you could shake a stick at. I had room on the top floor which was actually a suite, bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. All very attractive, well furnished, the bed was very comfortable and it was a very pleasant place...

Monschau is cute. It is mostly a homebase for walkers/hikers in the Naturpark. The walks are nice. However, the town was a bit of a disappointment because the shops were not open regularly, despite our visiting four days during the high season, inlcuding a weekend. The TI has lots of hiking/walking info, but nothing much on the history of the...
