We stayed 4 days in the chambre de la Marquise, with our grand son staying in the small adjacent tower room , very convenient. The castle is quite charming, with large bedrooms, brand new marbled bathrooms and drawing room for the guests. Joke's cooking is delicious and Adrian's wine reserve refined and plentiful. Their welcome is what you would expect...

I spent one week with my husband & grown daughters in the Gite of the Chateau de la Villaine with our exceptional hosts. We would recommend this property highly for a family or perhaps two couples wanting to base themselves in the heart of the Loire. We spent our days exploring the Valley in the peace & quiet of the...

What a wonderful place! Having read rave reviews at this site about the Chateau and its hosts Joke and Adrian, we thought we'd stay at the Chateau for two nights, while we visited various parts of the Loire. We wished the stay had been longer .. the place was charming, the accommodation very comfortable, the meals (do join them for...

The Chateau is lovely and the hospitality of Adrian & Joke is excellent. We spent New Year's Eve at the Chateau and had a delightful dinner which was prepared by Joke who is a wonderful cook. We would recommend the Chateau and hope to return on our next visit to The Loire.

We were lucky enough to be a part of their Christmas celebrations this year and were especially grateful to be allowed in to their family dinner. A wonderful 7 course meal with amazing dishes, Joke really knows how to feed her guests well. Adrian was always willing to recommend daily activities...

Dinnertime is a highlight as all gather in the dining room to savour Joke's fabulous cooking and exchange travel stories for the day. We would have loved to have stayed longer...

If you enjoy staying with wonderful people who enjoy food, wine and confortable surroundings, then you will love your stay with Adran and Joke. The only thing that could have made our stay better was more nights. By all means, have dinner with A and J, that is, if you like beautifully prepared fresh food accompanied by excellent regional wines....

“The Empire Room is on the first floor and very quiet. The walls of the chateau are thick, in the old style. We had lots of room for our luggage, beautiful views, places to sit and read and drink wine and just be French Chateau people. (We could get used to this.)”
