The Larissa Samed Resort is a collection of small cottages on a private beach towards the east end of the small island of Koh Samed. It's a 10-minute walk from Sai Kaew beach (we had our boat deliver us there) and a 25-minute walk to the main Nadan Pier. It's just far enough from the main beach that you don't hear the partying that goes on there at night. A 10-minute walk and you're also at all the shopping you're likely to need for your stay. The cabins are small and spare, but perfectly comfortable. Each has a good air-conditioner, a large bathroom, a safe, a mini-fridge, and an electric kettle. Each has its own porch with chairs to lounge on. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. The private beach is very small -- really more of a little inlet, but it didn't stop us from swimming in the very warm water and doing some snorkelling. The big sand beach is close if you want to do more serious swimming. The people who ran the resort were efficient and friendly. They even came around every evening to light mosquito coils under the decks. We had a few very relaxing days.

Larissa Samed is a cute idyllic resort located in Koh Samed. Providing the ideal lone time and that’s the reason why we chose it. It was not overpriced. We paid approx. INR 5500 per night. We stayed there for 2 nights. Our room was a partial sea view and had a lovely sit out area. Rooms were very neat and clean. Overall maintenance of the property was really good. All rooms had AC and Free Wi-Fi. They also offered discount at nearby restaurants as they did not offer food. Property has a private beach which is slightly rocky however very relaxing. Property has maintained a little lawn space there with loungers etc. We could spend hours sitting there. We had a lovely time during our anniversary stay and would surely recommend it as its value for money. Why Pros- Private beach, Solitude, Big Rooms, Sit out area, walking distance from Sai Kaew Beach. Cons – No restaurant – no breakfast at hotel, no room service. VERDICT Rooms – 4.5/5 Food – NA Ambiance – 4.5 /5 Service – 5 /5 Value for money – 4.5/5 (Only deduction for no F&B)

Larissa has very nice beach bungalows, they are very clean, comfortable and well looked after. The wet rooms are well appointed and there is also a safe. We arrived early and were able to check in straight away. The WiFi was more than adequate for my needs, checking in on line for my flight home and listening to the radio. However I could not believe what a dreadful place Koh Samet has become, it has been completely destroyed by Chinese day trippers arriving via speed boat [from 8:30 in the morning to 17:00 there is a constant, and I mean constant stream of speed boats going past the resort]. When we walk round to Sai Kaew beach my heart sank, the beach was so busy you could only walk along the shore line in the sea, there were so many speed boats revving their engines dropping off day trippers it was awful. What used to be [less than 4 years ago] a stunning peaceful white sandy beach has become your worst nightmare and I for one will never go back.

Very nice place, clean room, seaside view and private. No front beach but 2min walk to the front beach. The owner is very kind, she recommended restaurants and give the coupon discount for food. Wifi is terrible but we didn't stay in the resort too much but for people that bring a laptop to work may concern. Room a bit pricey but overall I was happy about my trip.
