This is the second time we have stayed here in the last month, and the reasons are obvious if you stay here.
The Hotel is very clean, and that includes Rooms, gardens and beach.
The staff are very friendly and attentive.
What I liked most was the cleanliness of the beach and water, the staff do a twice daily cleanup, and guests can assist too if they like.
The food variety is excellent and quality and size of dishes are good, albeit a little bit pricy, but worth it.
The stairs to some of the rooms can be a bit tiring, depends on age, but we stayed in 411 and 415 and access to facilities is OK.
The price of the stay includes the speedboat from the mainland, and minibus from Samet pier to the hotel and back again on departure. This saves a lot of time and money, so worth taking this.
We enjoyed it here so much I have booked again for my Birthday in February 21, and looking forward to that.
Keep up the good work, nice to see a hotel being so good after the long lockdown.
We were already checked in their own special pier - so smooth with transfers and our car, which was parked in the pier, was well looked after. Staff were very attentive, efficient and helpful.
Complimentary breakfast served a variety of international and Thai dishes - soup options were especially great. We had BBQ dinner, which was not bad, but not so impressive either. We also had one Italian dinner at "O" restaurant in Le Vimarn, which served very good pizza and risotto.
We got a deluxe hillside room. Probably because I asked for a quiet room, our room was at the end of the resort. It was a bit of climb, so in case you have a problem in mobility, it's better to get one of the beach cottages..
It was a pleasant stay and we will definitely go back.
The staff were super friendly (not all of them have the best English language so we had a few hiccups with translating at times) but everyone went out of their way for us.
The food and drinks were expensive for Thailand but that said, it was tasty and plentiful. We often went to 7.eleven which is about a 30 minute walk to stock up on cheeper beers, and snacks! Cocktails were good but not excellent.
Breakfast was tasty and a good selection of Thai and Western and ran from 7.30 until 10.30.
We have stayed in Samet before but never have we had such a peaceful and great stay. Ao Prao is one of the more expensive resorts but I would say it was worth every penny. (Baht)
The boat transfer was comfortable and easy, so that was a nice bonus.
We were stopped on the other side of the island to ask for our National Park ticket. As the lady in previous reviews had said, make sure you have it available to prove you have paid. I think it should probably have been mentioned by the staff here.
I would certainly recommend this beautiful resort. We will be back!
I got a beach villa where the sea was literally a few meters away. The villa was large enough for a couple, but I hoped that the bathroom sink would be cleaner. Just before sunrise on the next day, I was awaken by a loud sound coming from the ceiling. At first, I thought the sound was caused by cats running on a wooden ceiling, but it sound more like rats.
The breakfast was ok. It could improve. I also tried the nearby hotel's buffet breakfast (Le Vimarn), and it made no difference at all. I think the best part of the breakfast was having it on the beach where you could listen to the sound of the waves crashing. At night, I enjoyed the dinner while watching a spectacular fire dance.
For the price paid, I wish they could make some amenities free (or discounted) for the guests. I actually had to pay for the surf board. The check out was slow.
On this occasion as per the previous we were picked up at the Pier and taken by fast boat to the island however on this visit we were delivered to the opposite side of the island and then transferred by Tuk Tuk Taxi to the resort.
The facilities including our room are the same. Lovely room, beautiful linen, great oceans views, daily free bottled water and great wifi (the wifi works everywhere in the resort including the beach).
Breakfast each morning was lovely whilst offering a limited choice of hot and cold options. I must say the options were far less than our previous visit.
Can I also say that whilst the staff were all very helpful and pleasant we did not get the same vibe on this occasion. At our previous visit a staff member would not walk past you without acknowledging you and offering that friendly Thai smile that was on offer every single time previously. At times it appeared an effort to acknowledge guests.
The pricing of food at the resort can be a little high and so we visited the opposite side of the island each night for dinner and ate lashings of food and drinks for a reasonable price. You will be required to pay a Tuk Tuk Taxi 200 baht each way for this travel.
Some of the water craft is free to use whilst others you are required to pay an hourly rate, unsure what given they do not require petrol to operate.
Sun lounges and towels are available and free on the beach to use as required whilst there are also two pools available for Ao Prao guest.
During our stay we were issued gloves each morning to assist at breakfast time and encouraged to wear a mask when in confined spaces/dining areas but not made to feel uncomfortable if you did not.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly visit the resort again.
The food is fine, but nothing gourmet. My only complaint was there seemed to be no alcohol in any of the mixed drinks. My husband and I do not drink a lot, but even we could tell there was no extra oomph in our cocktails. In addition, food and drink are a bit expensive and there are no outside options close by.
While the hotel has lots of great room options, we recommend the beachfront cottage for full enjoyment of being at the beach.
The breakfast was delicious and there was enough choice. The prices at dinner are a little more expensive than outside, but still absolutely okay. On Fridays/Saturdays there is also a BBQ and a fire show. The Italian restaurant in the neighboring hotel was also very tasty.
The rooms are large and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. There are 4x 600ml bottles of water free every day.
The hotel is on the slope! If you are not good on your feet or have problems with steps, be careful when booking the room category.
"If you have disabled or old/infirm people, book ground level rooms. The hillside rooms require walking upstairs. No ramps or cable cars. "Read full review
