We spent 3 nights at the Samet Villa resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the cottage room with sea glimpses was very comfortable and well furnished with a balcony to enjoy an aperitif in the evening. Breakfast is ample and varied and can be eaten on the terrace garden overlooking the beach and sea. The hotel organized...

This is a value for money, well located and a nice medium level quality place to stay. No frills, just a very good hotel. Well located, rooms very good, breakfast excellent, and obviously a very well run beach hotel. Staff very helpful indeed. Good wifii throughout. I really love samet, it's so good to get away from Bangkok for a couple of days. You can take a taxi anywhere on the street in Bangkok it should not be more than 1500-1800 bath, it will take you to the pier and you have to take a speedboat from there to samet, it takes 15 min around 600...

Well traveled in Thailand for the last 25 years, I hadn't been to Koh Samet and was fortunate that a friend who lives in Bangkok knows the island well, has been several times and we decided to go for three nights. A quick speedboat across from the mainland takes 10 minutes. A more leisurely group boat crossing can be done...

I was recommended this hotel by a friend who had stayed there a few times in the last few years. I now owe my friend a huge drink for a wonderful choice. We drove down Ban Phe and parked the car nearby the pier for 100 baht per day. When we arrived on the pier, we called the hotel for...

It is really easy to get to this island hotel, who can arrange to collect you by car directly from Bangkok international airport and then whisk you there on a private speed boat. Unfortunately the speed boats are not owned by the hotel and the two do not co-ordinate well. You will probably therefore have to drag your suitcases up...

It took my wife and I a day or two to get used to the number of people crowding this little piece of paradise as on this stretch of soft sand there are resorts of differing quality stretching for miles. Samed Villa is one of the more expensive resorts. The Room - We had a spacious beach bungalow with 2...

Just barely 4/5. Excellent location, staff is helpful, quiet, restaurant is really good, laundry service is fast and cheap and so-on. Stayed 5 nights and only bad thing was wifi, it was really crappy as was cell reception. Other than that. Nothing went wrong. Oh and breakfast was perfect.
