I spent a week at L'Archipel in September, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I did quite a bit of research on hotels in Praslin before I arrived (not realizing most were closed during Covid), and I chose this place because it was not an enormous complex, yet seemed to have all the amenities I was looking for - including a private beach, the view of which never got boring. The staff is extremely friendly, the manager Soren was very helpful with logistics and suggestions for excursions and places to stay on Praslin and Mahe, and the staff overall was very welcoming. Covid cut down on the number of services at the hotel and on the island, but having the place almost entirely to myself for most of the stay was an added bonus (I can imagine when fully booked, the place might get a bit claustrophobic, but then again this is a Covid-age perspective). The bungalows (more like small apartments) are sparkling clean, modern, and temperature controlled, most with amazing views of the bay. The food was mixed: dinners for the first couple of nights and the last were great-- love the job fish in creole sauce was marvelous, but the food (and especially breakfast) got a little monotonous as the full menu wasn't available. The swimming and kayaking are just amazing. The place is central to almost all of what you might want to see in Praslin, from Anse Lazio (a must see), to Valée de Mai, and most of the recommended restaurants (were they open) are minutes away by car. Highly recommend the place, though if I do the trip again, I'd probably want to split the trip between Mahe and Praslin with a day or two on La Digue, The atmosphere in Mahe is quite different, and far more bustling.…
We stayed in this hôtel for 4 nights. It was by far the most memorable one in our trip. Cosy ans relaxing.. have best personales : they are very kind and welcoming. Regarding their restaurant : it's simple and testy : they also took into account our special request ( cooking a meal without garlic for my husband )
it was truly an amazing hotel, very professional , the food was exceptional. very well located, service was top, everyone was friendly and doing extra for US, I can't thank you enough for making this trip special and memorable.
Our room, a junior suite (27) overlooking the beach was ideal and very well serviced. Close to everything, although this is a small hotel. Some rooms do appear to necessitate a climb. The people couldn't have been more helpful and made our stay. A few points, cost of Nespresso pods were outrageous considering the room rate. There was some work on the garden at the rear of the beach, right outside our room with an excavator! Bad planning. Food is very good but not exceptional and the odd beach umbrella would have been welcome.
I highly recommend this gorgeous, family run hotel. It only has about 32 rooms and the views are absolutely stunning - it’s a little paradise. The sea and setting are breathtaking. Service is very friendly and efficient throughout. The weakness? The kitchen, apart from pretty decent breakfasts, is average at best, yet charge London prices. The hotel is away from other tourist places; this is a blessing but suggests that without competition they have become complacent over what they serve up. That’s a pity, but in general it’s a wonderful hotel.
