The people managing the lodge are very warm and friendly. (Have a chat with them when you get the chance.) We had a nice room overlooking the mountain. Since it was winter they were nice enough to gave us an additional portable heater. Bringing and cooking your own food is great since they have a communal kitchen and eating area....

This YHA affiliated lodge was amazing. The owners/ managers take great pride in the place. It is in excellent condition, clean, bright and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. AND it's right next to the hotsprings. I spent five weeks in NZ and this was a standout.

This is a really nice place to stay. Even though it is backpackers type of accommodation it is really clean. The owners have certainly looked after this place really well. The staff there were also really helpful. The views from the hostel to the surroundings are really nice. The hotsprings are a few minutes walk away and a must see...

We were met by a lovely Asian woman, who was...

We stayed in room 20 which is their best and most quiet room although noise was never a problem. There is a community kitchen with full cooking facilities, a lounge and outdoor...

This nice, quiet and tidy hostel is well run and the hosts are very helpful. It's a very short easy walk to the thermal pools, and to the shops, and to the many walking trails in the area. Plenty of free parking onsite. Kitchen is very clean, and a nice spot to sit and socialise with the many different guests...
