We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family in Cambridge. We often have problems finding accommodation in Cambridge and this was a great find. This is a "No frills" motel but we were pleasantly surprised. It is very clean and comfortable. Manager very helpful and other staff very friendly. Great communal kitchen with plenty of space and we'll equipped.... More

Great location in Cambridge. We noted the differences at this hotel. It started with checkin and the warm greeting from the owner, a former professional cyclist with his many cyclist bibs behind the counter. Then we came to the room - comfortable bed, a towel warmer, wonderful shower and all those little goodies left for us to use. The place... More

Drove down from Auckland to position ourselves to go to Hobbiton. I knew we'd be arriving after dark and I was worried Cambridge would be dark and this place sketchy. The other reviewers, however, didn't let me down tho! It's a classic older accommodation surrounded by antique shops and other retail nearby. The rooms are plain and clean and exactly... More

I booked a room for a work colleague that was down in Cambridge for a meeting. The room was clean and the size was ok. Bathroom was also clean and well presented. The staff were efficient and helpful. The price was very affordable and location is very good. Do ask for a room towards the back as the front rooms... More

On route from Auckland to Cambridge l phoned to book a room. I was greeted at the other end of the phone by a very unfriendly, miserable man who replied to my request for a room with " we are closing up now & hung up !!! " This was at 9.15pm on a Thursday night.... The website states they... More

Great if just using the place for 8 hours sleep. Very small rooms but clean and comfy. Fantastic shower pressure , no hair dryer thou. Wouldn't recommend if needing space to move around. Suited us thou as we were only using it for sleeping while attending a competition.

We recently travelled through Cambridge, and stopped-over here at the No.1 Motels on Victoria. What a lovely room and comfy night we had staying there! We'd arrived quite late - after 7pm, on a Monday. Our room was very clean & comfy and although the road outside was a Highway, we were not bothered by traffic noise at all. Nice... More

Stayed here for 1 night. It's ok but room could do with an aircon. We did have an electrical fan which helped. Overall, it's very basic, clean and suitable for those who are not fussy about presentation and quality. Great location tho!

This place is a bit odd. It’s not a top of the line luxury unit (places with names like number one rarely are), but it is on the main road, quiet, safe, clean, comfortable, handy to the town (such as it is), and the amenities are just fine. Unlike most motels there are no facilities in the room other than... More
