Neat, tidy and good service. The rooms are easy to access as there is plenty of park all around the establishment. It has pokes which if you aren’t interested in them like me they are out of the way. The meal way very good and well priced with a buffet with a good range of salads and vegetables. All up a good place to stop when you are passing though and on business in northern Adelaide.

Came to the Highlander with some trepidation but it was the closest to a wedding venue. Pretty basic but clean and comfortable with extra blankets pillows etc. No cooked breakfast available but a complimentary continental breakfast of yogurt fruit and choice of cereal, juices tea and coffee and bickies that you won't find at much flasher and more expensive places. The hotel bar food was very good and service was friendly. Pays to be there early as the place is popular.

I enjoyed a relaxing overnight stay recently - the room was spacious with all the comforts required. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, TV and coffee facilities. Bathroom was very modern with a decent sized shower and separate toilet. Unfortunately I am not used to street noise as I live in the country so this was my only complaint - constant traffic on North East Road! Easy enough to overcome with a decent night sleep once I got used to the sounds of the cars.

I stayed at The Highlander prior to a meeting at Tea Tree Gully. I was a little apprehensive due to some negative reviews. However, I was very comfortable and felt secure. The Bistro menu served mainly family groups and was both reasonably priced and of good standard. I arrived after Reception had closed. However, bar staff were friendly and supportive of my booking. My room was the real surprise! Spacious bedroom and bathroom, very clean, secure locks and soundproofed from North East Rd traffic. I spoke to two other guets and they made similar comments. I'd booked a week or so before my trip and received a discounted price. Very pleased.

I recently stayed at the Highlander Hotel , booked a room, and attended a function and I have to say, it was a complete disappointment. The staff were incredibly rude and dismissive, and seemed to have no motivation or kindness whatsoever.

From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. The kitchen staff appeared generally inconvenienced when dropping off a birthday cake earlier in the day. Check in with the manager was about as warm and inviting as a frozen tundra. I potted cactus has more personality and warmth as middle management.

At the 70th birthday event, the bar staff were absurdly disrespectful. They acted as if the guests were interrupting their private pity party of a terrible work culture and career choices, yet united in their distain to actually have to work for their money. When asked by a guest why one of the bar staff was in such a "bad mood" she responded "I've just worked a 12-hour shift." She didn't respond well to the criticism and proceeded to have a room full of 60+year old guests kicked out by her wishful security suitor. And let's not fail to mention when the same staff member went out of her way to ensure all obstacles were put in place to access water for a disabled guests water bottle as a little "F U" for inconveniencing her on a 12-hour shift. Admittedly, it must have been quite tiring holding up her eyelashes. Perhaps the immense amount of eyelash glue became overwhelming and affected her ability to carry out the duties of her role as a customer service employee.

There was not one guest who didn't disagree the venue was lacking in kindness, warmth, and motivation for customer service. Any future consideration of hosting future events there are officially off the table.

Considering we paid $150 per night we were stunned. Old, dirty but the bed was clean and comfortable which was the main thing.
The spa in the bathroom is a good size, but with the 3 levels inside the bath made for a very cautious, quick shower. Surprised how it could have passed any Health and Safety check.
Wouldn’t recommend this for $150 but would for $90-100. Very ordinary at best.

What a total surprise, the large spa rooms are out the back, cannot hear traffic, modern and comfortable. Located close to the city, very reasonable rates, fantastic staff and numerous outlets are close by.
Completely surprised by the Hotel, amazing food, very modern and the staff are amazing and friendly.
This is full of surprises and you won’t be disappointed.

Had dinner last Friday night with friends. Our meals were delicious and well presented by very friendly and helpful staff. We chose Salt and pepper calamari, Caesar salad and Beef schnitzel, which were all very generous serves. Missed the salad and vegetable bar, but a bowl of salad or vegetables is available for $5. Dinner rolls were served with meals. Dessert menu looked good, but feeling full, we opted for coffees instead. Good venue for a meal.

I have been several times recently with a couple of mates, as we live close by. The venue is well appointed and had friendly staff, along with an excellent wine list.
That's where it stops. The menu is mainly a burger and meat dish type of place. That can be fine as long as it is well executed.
I had the brisket, which would have to have been some of the driest pieces of meat I have ever attempted to eat. This was accompanied by "Tater tots" which were true to packet, and tiny bit of salad and a dollop of strong BBQ sauce, to provide a little moisture. I couldn't finish it, it was terrible.
My mates had a schnitzel and a steak and it was the same story..
After having had some barely passable meals there in the past, this one was the straw that broke the camel's back and we will be taking our business elsewhere, even though it is conveniently located, which is a real shame.

My group of 6 people attended Highlander for lunch. While the meal and service were fine, the table seating arrangement was most unsatisfactory.

We were sat at two small square tables which had been put together, with 3 people along each of the longer sides. This meant that the middle diners were straddling the legs of the tables and were contending with the join between tables under their plates. The length of table so provided was totally inadequate even for 3 small-to-normal sized people. It was not possible to move anyone to the ends of the tables as that would have blocked the aisle.

Considering that the dining room was hardly heavily booked, surely more care could have been taken in having the group better accommodated. It was not that we were a last minute booking which was squeezed in; I had booked several months ago.
No response was received when I emailed the hotel.
