Had a great couple of days at this hotel. My room was said to have a "side beach view" but had an amazing front-on sea view. There are very few rooms so hotel is relatively quiet. Beach is las pocitas (not the main mancora beach) so is so peaceful and even more beautiful. Mancora beach is a short & cheap...

We stayed 4 nights at the Sunset after a trip to Machu Pichu, as a couple. We were delighted to realise that our choice had been heaven inspired. We had booked a junior suite right in front of the beach and near the swimming pool. The room was clean and pleasant, sober but convenient, as are the whole premises. Having...

This place is in serious need of an attitude adjustment and some serious attention to the level of service offered to its guests. The views are nice however that's where the good part ends. We felt much like ghosts in this place as we waited repeatedly for our morning coffee and breakfast, as the staff shuffled by us either on...

Hotel Sunset is located about 2km from the main township of Mancora. Perfect location, as it is away from the noisy backpacker scene but easily accessed by mototaxi. The beach is clean and quiet. The hotel is very tastefully decorated, and has excellent outdoor areas for dining and relaxation. The pool is large and overlooks the ocean. The rooms are...

The good. Room is a good size. The view is very nice. The so-so. Air conditioner is very small and cannot handle such a room with that many holes. It was not extremely hot, so it was not a big problem. Do not swim in the ocean right in front of the hotel. Very rocky. Walk 200 meters left or...

We found the hotel through our guidebook, and in the busy december period, we phoned them and they were one of the few places with availability over new year. spoke to Valerie, who speaks English, but unfortunately, on arrival there was nobody there that spoke anything but spanish. We have mixed feelings about the hotel. We were accomodated in the 'residenza' or...

We came to Mancora for some warmth after an extended inland treck at high altitude, near Machu Pichu. It really was not very warm here in October. It was often overcast or foggy and the wind blew constantly, whipping the sand around on the beach. The water is fairly cold and at least during that time wasn't enjoyable swimming. This...

Using our guidebook, Moon, we decided to stay 3 nights at Hotel Sunset. The guidebook said all five rooms were with a view, and unfortunately the hotel booked us in "Room 6" - the recently-converted apartment (? - it had a kitchen sink) at the back of the hotel. Even worse, the room shared with a bathing suit shop that...
