The room was very cleaned, spacious and well kept. The cleaning lady, Rosalia was so accommodating. She is very kind and gentle.
Pool bar was were we stayed most of the time since arrival. It's beautiful. It's calming. It's a nice view especially at night. Gilfredo, Maciel and Margaret are very kind and their services are excellent too. They make great drinks too. The bar menu at the pool is really really good... my favorite were the sancocho and churrasco. I highly recommend.
Breakfast is buffet style. It's a mix of traditional dominican and American. I loved the options and the service. The chef, Pedro and the staff were soooo nice. Pedro knew our favorites and would bring it to our table. The staff knew our names and remembered that we didn't drink coffee so every day when we would sit down, they would remove the coffee cups for us. The details is amazing.
If you decide on the spa, Maria has magical hands. My sister and I booked separately during our stay. Let's me just say my sister isn't into massages like I am but she was so happy that I motivated her into it. She loved it.

I had a very unexpected situation in 1 of my stay upon arriving back home I realized that I forgot some money In the room I was staying. After the 3rd day when I realized what happened I contacted the hotel immediately to let them know.as soon as 40 minutes later I got a phone call from the hotel letting me know that house keeping found what I left behind. On my next stayed I was greet by Blasmirca Fermin ( manager) or in charge of the house keeping department, she explained to to me that Rosmairy (maid) reported to her the money I forgot. Finally I received everything it was left behind. I have no words to say how thankful I'm with everyone specifically this two persons mentioned above. Thank you again.



It is the only 5star hotel in the city, so we booked it.
it is in a safe area and most people in the hotel are tourists or airline staff. The bar seemed to be almost all Americans which was funny.
There is a cigar shop on premises as well as a cigar lounge area.
They have an ATM and make change if you need it.
We stayed on the 5th floor which had an additional level of service. The 5th floor had an additional security guard / person sitting at a desk outside the hotel room area and also had an additional snack / drink area. I would say it’s like a VIP area and a concierge lounge blended together.
We thought about upgrading to the presidential suite, so the staff kindly showed us the room to help make our decision. It only had 1 bed, so that was not going to work for us.
Would recommend and stay here again.
It is within walking distance to a huge grocery store and there is a TGI Friday restaurant next door.
Why the lack of everything n a place which call itself a luxury spot, why offer information during check in when isn’t verified or not accurate. The representatives don’t know the day that the guest had and why the guest are not helpful at all. Me being Dominican I am embarrassed of the service of this place and if they treated me that way, how could they treat other nationalities. Shame on the actions and the way how they disrespected a simple request as to see the menu of the restaurant which was open at that time.
I work for a company which brings a lot of business everyday to this hotel, but I think is time to pass the message about how really they treat customers.
On one of my many stays at the GA hotel, I experienced severed allergies due to the air freshener they use for their rooms, after reporting my situation to Mr. Martinez he immediately provided me to another room and made sure they don't use the product in questioned, since then every time I stay at the GA they are very caution and attentive to my condition since my allergies can trigger my asthma. Taking such responsibility and to have immediate empathy to my situation is part of a great leader and CS representative. To Mr. Martinez and the Staff at the El Gran Almirante hotel, I say, thank you for caring and keep providing Excelent Customer Service!!
