As per recommendations from our family, my family and I stayed at Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel in November 2024. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm beautiful smiles from every worker. At the reception, we were given champagne and delicious cookies. Arami Benite, Rafeal Rodriguez and Alex Espinal were extremely exceptional. They went above and beyond with their reception services. Throughout our stay, they remembered our names, greeted us, gave recommendations on places to eat and shop and they were kind to change currency every day without an issues.

The room was very cleaned, spacious and well kept. The cleaning lady, Rosalia was so accommodating. She is very kind and gentle.

Pool bar was were we stayed most of the time since arrival. It's beautiful. It's calming. It's a nice view especially at night. Gilfredo, Maciel and Margaret are very kind and their services are excellent too. They make great drinks too. The bar menu at the pool is really really good... my favorite were the sancocho and churrasco. I highly recommend.

Breakfast is buffet style. It's a mix of traditional dominican and American. I loved the options and the service. The chef, Pedro and the staff were soooo nice. Pedro knew our favorites and would bring it to our table. The staff knew our names and remembered that we didn't drink coffee so every day when we would sit down, they would remove the coffee cups for us. The details is amazing.

If you decide on the spa, Maria has magical hands. My sister and I booked separately during our stay. Let's me just say my sister isn't into massages like I am but she was so happy that I motivated her into it. She loved it.

Thank you soooo much for the unforgettable wonderful services!!! We can't wait to visit again.

I stayed at Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel & Casino for a thanksgiving weekend business trip. This is the best place to stay in Santiago by far for not only for business travelers because of its location in the center of the city. But also for any traveler because of the excellent service by the staff and the upscale amenities. For the best experience please stay at the empire club which has the best rooms in the hotel which are located on the 5th floor. There you get your own separate private check in/out where I was taken care of by the awesome Alexandra Rodriguez who went above and beyond! She even helped me schedule a rapid covid test so that I would have the results to present at the airport to return to the United States. The Gran Almirante is the standard for the city of Santiago as I saw the President of the Dominican Republic who was in town for an event and he was staying on the same floor and said hello to all of us in the lobby.

First of all I will like to point out how great the staff is at this hotel ,every single person makes you feel like at home they all go above and beyond when it comes make feel welcome ,comfortable.
I had a very unexpected situation in 1 of my stay upon arriving back home I realized that I forgot some money In the room I was staying. After the 3rd day when I realized what happened I contacted the hotel immediately to let them know.as soon as 40 minutes later I got a phone call from the hotel letting me know that house keeping found what I left behind. On my next stayed I was greet by Blasmirca Fermin ( manager) or in charge of the house keeping department, she explained to to me that Rosmairy (maid) reported to her the money I forgot. Finally I received everything it was left behind. I have no words to say how thankful I'm with everyone specifically this two persons mentioned above. Thank you again.

This hotel was booked without reading reviews or doing much research.

It is the only 5star hotel in the city, so we booked it.

it is in a safe area and most people in the hotel are tourists or airline staff. The bar seemed to be almost all Americans which was funny.

There is a cigar shop on premises as well as a cigar lounge area.

They have an ATM and make change if you need it.

We stayed on the 5th floor which had an additional level of service. The 5th floor had an additional security guard / person sitting at a desk outside the hotel room area and also had an additional snack / drink area. I would say it’s like a VIP area and a concierge lounge blended together.

We thought about upgrading to the presidential suite, so the staff kindly showed us the room to help make our decision. It only had 1 bed, so that was not going to work for us.

Would recommend and stay here again.

It is within walking distance to a huge grocery store and there is a TGI Friday restaurant next door.

I have been a loyal customer for many years of Hodelpa Gran Almirante but this was my first time staying after Covid19, as always the service was excellent, all employees are so professional but above all so friendly and caring that make you really feel at home, this did not surprise me as this is their standard, what I was more not sure was how I was gonna feel after Covid staying with them, and I can only say they exceeded my expectations, when you enter the hotel you can smell the cleanliness, they take all the safety measures that you can imagine like temperature check, cleaning of shoes with antibacterial rugs, hand sanitizers, at check-in, they have the plexiglass and even the pen you use to sign is sanitized. When going to the elevator they have hand sanitizer outside and inside the elevator and limit the amount of customers in the elevator. The rooms are extremely clean, I honestly carry with me lysol and clorox wipes and I did not have to use them much, it was just extremely clean (no rugs and even have glass on top of the night table to maintain it sanitize instead of wood that absorbs bacteria). The restaurant also goes above and beyond, they clean your table in front of you before you sit down, give you individually rapped sterilized silver ware it's just amazing the way they make you feel safe in these stressing times. I was personally going thru a hard time since I was not on vacation but visiting my dad in the hospital and they sure made my experience less stressful!

Having the worst experience in customer service ever, having to call 4 times to front desk to ask for a menu in a restaurant, which I was told during checking in that was open until 1am, no one could help me or transfer a call to the right department, hanging up on me multiple times. Going down to speak with someone in the front desk asking to speak to a Reception Manager and GIOVANNI, one of the from desk sent me to the security, with sarcasm all the time tried to fool me and disrespectfully disregard my concern. When transferred no one in the other side of the phone spoke or knowledge my call or identify himself on the phone, and I was transferred yo room service when I never ask for.

Why the lack of everything n a place which call itself a luxury spot, why offer information during check in when isn’t verified or not accurate. The representatives don’t know the day that the guest had and why the guest are not helpful at all. Me being Dominican I am embarrassed of the service of this place and if they treated me that way, how could they treat other nationalities. Shame on the actions and the way how they disrespected a simple request as to see the menu of the restaurant which was open at that time.

I work for a company which brings a lot of business everyday to this hotel, but I think is time to pass the message about how really they treat customers.

I’ve been staying monthly at this hotel for the past 10 years for business. The company I work for is quite large, and I have many coworkers whom also have been staying weekly or monthly for 10 years, if not much longer. Needless to say, we have gotten to know the workers over time, and up until recently, they’ve all been really knowledgeable, helpful and nice. Unfortunately, much has changed since my last visit (5/16, for 2 days & nights), me and my coworkers were very abruptly and rudely advised that we could no longer have guests over unless they paid for access to the hotel. Myself and many of my coworkers have family and friends who come by to have lunch or dinner with us at the hotels restaurant, a tab that we always take care of. Whatever is consumed is always paid for, as we are not looking for handouts. To pay what’s basically an “entrance fee” is despicable. You would expect this from an all inclusive resort, wherein meals and beverages (including alcohol) is covered. Were this an all inclusive, I’d be more than happy to pay for my guests entrance fee, but it is not. It seems Hodelpa Gran Almirante is trying to recoup all the money that they may have lost at the beginning of the pandemic. It’s absurd to treat your paying guests in such a way. I spoke to one of the front desk managers that I’ve known for a few years and the overall attitude I was given was “sorry, not sorry”.

If I could give this place 1,000+ stars I would. I am not exaggerating when I say alllll the staff here truly care about their clients and make it their duty to treat you exceptional. All are very friendly and very attentive. The check in and out process with Erick and Shaquira was not only quick and efficient but they were very kind and patient with my family and I. I was traveling with a baby and without me having to ask they made sure to accommodate us with a crib set up in our room prior to us arriving (the sweetest surprise! and yes it was very clean) The food was amazing and Alexandra at the hotel made sure to always call our room to confirm we were doing well and weren’t in need of anything. Besides the amazing pool, the views, food and amazing attention the cherry on top was when the staff advised we could get covid tested at their site for a very fair price as well as drop us off at the airport on the day of our departure free of charge. This hotel is 5/5 and I totally recommend! Thank Alexandra, Erick, Shaquira and the entire staff ! I will definitely be back

True hospitality and customer service, profesional, attentive and pays attention to details. My personal experience with Front desk & Hospitality ManagerJose Orlando Martinez and he's staff.
On one of my many stays at the GA hotel, I experienced severed allergies due to the air freshener they use for their rooms, after reporting my situation to Mr. Martinez he immediately provided me to another room and made sure they don't use the product in questioned, since then every time I stay at the GA they are very caution and attentive to my condition since my allergies can trigger my asthma. Taking such responsibility and to have immediate empathy to my situation is part of a great leader and CS representative. To Mr. Martinez and the Staff at the El Gran Almirante hotel, I say, thank you for caring and keep providing Excelent Customer Service!!

Does the hotel have a shuttle TO the airport (STI)? Uber?

There's a shuttle to pick you up, but you have to call the hotel the day before you travel so they know to wait for you. If you also need a ride back make sure you sign up the day before. They mostly take travelers back in the morning so just make sure you pick a time that isn't too close to your departure time.

Yes they do. The drivers were both very friendly and the van en route to the airport even had a wifi hot spot, so I was able to catch up on the way to the airport.
