We booked this B&B on spec simply because we needed ot overnight in Mallaig before catching the ferry for Eigg the following morning. If you book this B&B ask for room 1 because it is truly palatial and the en suite is fabulous. Nick and Lindsay are a lovely couple and Nick cooks an excellent breakfast. One of the nicest...

2nd visit to Heatherlea, 4 years after previous. As before, Nick very kindly collected us at the station, which was much appreciated after 7 hours on a variety of trains. (Logically, we should have walked to stretch our legs, but……) Walked to and from Mallaig for Dinner – pleasantly fresh 20 minutes each way - along the main road, Nick...

Heatherlea's hosts Lindsay and Nick absolutely define the place. Since the place is tucked away, Nick's meticulous directions were right on. The room was perfect and the care we got was amazing. I wish we had more time with them. A definite plus on our magical trip to Scotland.

Before saying anything about the place itself, let me say there is a short walk right behind the house that takes you to an absolutely gorgeous lake where you can have a beautiful picnic if the weather collaborates. And the house itself is nothing to complain about: the rooms are comfortable, the views are gorgeous and the bathrooms perfectly nice,...

One mile from Mallaig, this B&B has a great location, lovely views, fantastic hosts, quality accommodation and a wonderful breakfast. As I arrived, the hosts were there to meet and greet me. As they served the delicious breakfast, they both came to apologise that the tomatoes might not quite be up to their usual standard due to a kitchen misunderstanding....

We were only here for one night before hopping over to Skye but would definitely stay again. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Good quality shower too - which always makes a stay for me! The highlight of the visit, aside from the hosts, was the beautiful breakfast. You can start with cereals, yogurt, juice, fruit etc...

We spent a night here waiting for a ferry. When we described what we were doing the owners offered to bring our bags down to the ferry terminal for us during the day. This was so helpful allowing us to enjoy Mallaig unencumbered. I get the sense this was not the first time they have helped visitors in this sort...

We visited Heatherlea in the Summer of 2016. A lovely secluded house about 2-3 minutes drive from Mallaig. Nick and his wife are really welcoming and the breakfast was very tasty. We had a hearty Scottish breakfast which set us up for the day. The house is split into two wings, a guest wing and the families wing. The guest...

Lovely hosts at Heatherlea. Spent one night there on our recent shortbreak staycation around the area. Very nice comfortable room with large ensuite, and an excellent breakfast in the morning. Good location for going to the Isle of Skye. Would have loved to stay longer!

Brilliant Hospitality, lovely hosts very friendly! Spacious room with new looking bathroom! Very tasty breakfast! Good location for the ferry to isle of skye or to visit nearby isles. Also had a perfect view of old steam train going past from our room! Good rates too! Would recommend
