This was a much anticipated trip to Laurel Villa. The house is stunningly elegant in its furnishing and the walls are covered with Heaney poems ( and others) Presentation of food and table at breakfast was exquisite . The personal service on hand from Eugene and Gerardine was second to none . On top of all this for a Heaney...

I recommend Eugene and Geraldine's Laurel Villa Townhouse very highly indeed. It is a place that everyone with an interest in poetry, Seamus Heaney or simply having a relaxed and enjoyable time should visit. The walls of the townhouse are covered with superb poems, mainly from 20th-century Irish writers, and demonstrate what a brilliant poetic heritage Ireland has. The hosts...

The four of us stumbled upon this quaint little town, during our 2 week tour of Northern Ireland and thankfully, we found LAUREL VILLA in our GPS. How would I describe this delightful townhouse.... impeccably clean, oozing with history and class, comfortable beyond expectation and a gastronomic delight. Eugene helped us plan the rest of our trip, with his extensive...

Old house inside but decor is very nice, full of original features, old pictures, ornaments and countless items relating to Seamus Heaney. Rooms very clean and the owners Eugene and Geraldine couldn't do enough to help you. Gary Lineker famously stayed here and as an Arsenal fan not sure if I should be saying we had the same room as...

Here's the short-hand: stay here. I'm a well traveled Londoner, 37 years old, and work in the film industry. I have high expectations. They were exceeded. It's a unique, personal, boutique experience with wonderful, impeccably clean rooms and fantastic home-made food. If you like poetry and are interested in local history then you won't find a better place to stay....

From the minute you step through Laurel Villa's front door, you really do feel that you have come home. Not only is it a beautiful house crammed with fascinating memorabilia about local poets and Seamus Heaney in particular, but the warm and very genuine welcome extended by Seamus and Gerardine makes it even more special. And the fact that Gerardine...

Laurel Villa is the perfect place if you think perfection is about a warm and genuine welcome, a lovely room themed to a poet, with books to dip into - clean, airy and comfortable. Eugene and Gerardine Kielty have provided all of the above in their beautiful home. Eugene's tour of Séamus Heaney country brought a typical Irish landscape of...
