I booked at short notice a 2 night break at Thorngarth Country Guest House while visiting the area to do some walking. Dave and Sally were great hosts and very welcoming. The room in stayed in was a double bed with en suite and was very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast each morning consisting of cereal, fruit, and a lovely...

We visited Thorngarth again, this time taking six friends with us. Arriving on Friday evening to a massive warm log fire and to Sally's home cooking was a delight. We had this planned for some time so had already selected our meal. From fishcakes or ham hock terrine, through steak pie, risotto or chicken; to ginger and rhubarb crumble or...

The Thorngarth was ideally located in Ingleton for our three night break, great pub within walking distance for an evening meal after a long days walk. The room was a good size with a large comfy bed and an en suite bathroom with spacious shower. The breakfast was excellent with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and full cooked breakfast to set us...

We stayed at Thorngarth for a couple of nights in February as we we'd planned a walk up nearby Pen-y-ghent. Dave and Sally couldn't have been more welcoming, offering plenty of local wisdom about the amenities of Ingleton and ideas for other things to see and do in the village. The property itself is easy to find and within walking...

As always we were made to feel very very welcome by Sally and David as nothing is too much trouble for them, they are the perfect hosts, from the moment we...

Sally and Dave are the perfect hosts and it really is like spending quality time with family. The food, rooms, ambience and overall feeling of well-being really...

Just back from a three night Christmas package break at this delightful, small country guest house on the western edge of The Dales. Thorngarth is a real credit to its owners, being very comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Dave's bio-mass boiler ensures gallons of hot water at any time of the day, and Sally's cooking is perfect - not fancy,...

“I was staying with a group of friends and the rooms were filled by others in the group, so I was accommodated in the private part of the owners home, which I think was very kind of them to allow this to happen and I was very comfortable there, even though it was not ensuite, I had a private bathroom and toilet. ”
