Arrived on spec looking for somewhere to stay for couple nights which allowed dogs. Bingo... Golden lion. £90 plus £10 for dog. Food in bar looked good so ate there, was very nice.. Rooms very clean, mattress lumpy but breakfast good. Staff friendly, plenty of dogs in and out. Obviously for dog lovers, which suits us, but no doggy smell....

We visited with friends, our rooms were very clean, decorated and furnished beautifully. Given it was a bank holiday weekend we found the management and staff to be friendly. Very reasonable tariff, homely ans welcoming pub plus a lovely breakfast. Definitely would stay again.

Looked OK from outside. No music or atmosphere inside which would have made it instantly more friendly. Girls working were friendly enough but zero interaction with guests (first thing you should do when someone walks in - the people working are the face of the business) Asked for sandwiches to be plain (for a child) with no salad and some...

It was about a year since our last visit when we had already noticed improvements. This time was even better. The welcome offered to visitors is warm and friendly and the land-lady even remembered us from last year which is an amazing feat of memory and a wonderful example of customer care. The room was bright and fresh with very...

A carvery that permits dogs in the bar area is unusual. A carvery with crisp vegetables is almost unheard of - they are so often over-cooked. A choice of three meats and two portion sizes. A good selection of beers at the bar and very friendly staff made this a great Sunday lunch while visiting the Dales. The only improvement...

We enjoyed a lunch there and the food was very good as well as the local beers. The hotel is well located close to the car park and that makes it very conveniënt. The staff is friendly and very helpful, so it's a recommendation to stay there or to have a meal and some drinks.

We visited the Golden Lion today for the Crafty Ladies craft fair, the Manager David & all his staff are lovely. They are making a lovely job of the refurbishment in the dining room where the craft fair was happening, We had hot chocolate drinks (strange in August but my favourite hot drink!) it was a lovely drink served with...
