Just back from a four night stay at The Wheatsheaf, excellent! We were in the apartment, 3 of us plus dog fitted in well. It was lovely and warm, clean and comfortable. We ate in the pub for 3 nights and every meal was good, well cooked, well presented and good portion sizes. The beer was always good, lovely pint...

Great food and lovely people. Went for our anniversary had a lovely time. We were able to take our dog at last minute. The lady who ran the place was lovely and we were well looked after. Met some nice people with their dogs. We would go here again.

We have just returned from a very happy four night stay at this lovely pub. For us this place was really about two things - a magical location ( walks in all directions directly from the pub) and a genuine friendly welcome. The food was honest pub grub - well presented and copious - and breakfasts were good quality, if...

Thought we would try this out after reading many reviews and have to say they were right, a little gem well situated as a base for getting out and about enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside . The best pub grub I have had anywhere , very friendly staff and also dog friendly so were able to take our little dog...

Spent two nights here as a central location for a few days in the Dales. Room was clean, warm and comfy with all the facilities you'd expect. Our room was in the original part of the pub/hotel (there is a more modern annex to the back), as such the en-suite is an add-on and takes a sizeable chunk out of...

Just back from a lovely short stay at The Wheatsheaf Inn. From arrival to departure we were treated to excellent hospitality, the staff are all very helpful and friendly, the food is very good and the little extras like a "boot tray" in the room are a nice touch. We booked a superior double which was a good size, our...

It was 22 March yet there were snow storms en-route to Caperby and both the warm fires and the wonderful welcome by Claire and Emily made us feel instantly at home. Our room was nicely decorated and tastefully furnished, and yes! the double bed was as comfortable as the previous reviews had noted. The quality and quantity of food was...

Stayed here for three nights this week on B&b basis, had evening meals there each night. We received a warm welcome, the room was a superior double towards the rear of the inn and was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had a good choice and set you up for the day. The evening meals were very good and fairly priced....

Our third visit to this lovely place in the Yorkshire Dales. The hospitality, accommodation and food/drink were excellent. We intend to keep visiting, it's fast becoming 'our place'. Would highly recommend.
