I stayed at the Sea Side Resort for 2 weeks at the end of September and the beginning of October. What stood out to me especially was how friendly all of the employees were. They were always happy to help with whatever and were constantly smiling. Something else I would like to point out is how friendly Lilly and Alessandro from the animation team were and what a great job they did during the day as well as during the nighttime program. With them around it never got boring. Other than that, the food in general but also the large selection of vegetarian and vegan options in the main restaurant was incredible. They also did themed nights in the restaurant with food from different cultures which I loved, as I like trying out new foods from time to time. I had the pleasure of meeting the two chefs Kastanakis and Kavallos and I could really notice how passionate they are for their job, which created a whole new kind of appreciation for the food that was offered.

We spent 10 days at Sea Side in a se view junior suite. The hotel location is utterly stunning. Perched upon a cliff face and top it looks out to the ocean and it takes your breath away. The hotel is immaculate. Super clean in every area and well maintained. There are two main pool areas which do get busy every day so my advice is to set an alarm and pop a towel down early (6am). The staff are incredible. There is a great culture at the hotel which is definitely set from the GM and the duty manager, Andreas. Staff are happy, friendly and by the end of our time at the hotel we were super friendly with so many of them. HUGE thanks to Andreas, Poppi, Demitris, Maria, Mana, Kostas the cocktail king, Michilis and many more. The food is really good. There is a huge selection in the main buffet with all kinds of salads, hot foods, traditional Greek food and a wood fired pizza oven which was on every day. There are a number of a la carte restaurants which you can use if you are staying longer than 7 nights. This helps break up routine. Lobster night on Wednesdays is excellent. At the pools there are always crisps, ham and cheese rolls, cookies, pastries and fruit boxes. We never felt hungry and didn’t need to buy anything from the hotel shop. Drinks choice is fabulous. All international brand spirits and local beer. There are a number of cocktails included and a range of wines. Kostas the barman is a legend! Location is great. A taxi from the airport takes about 20 minutes and is €40. We booked one via booking.com for €28. There is a small beach next to the hotel with a couple of excellent little tavernas and a bar. The water in the bay is amazing to swim in. Agia Pallegia is 5 minutes in a taxi and €10 EUR each way. There are lots of restaurants here. Heraklion is by bus or taxi and takes 20 minutes. We used the Spa and had a couple massage which was excellent. Would I come back - yes! This place is great and we have had a brilliant holiday. Thank you to all the fantastic staff

We have just returned from a really great week at Seaside. The views from the resort are outstanding and which we’ll never forget. We had a superior room with sea view and independent pool (room 80) which was at the lowest point of the resort and had not only the fantastic view but a reasonably sized terrace area with sun beds which got the sun until around 2pm then we would make our way to one of the pools for the remainder of the day. Despite sun beds already being reserved - which happens in EVERY European hotel you go to - we never had a problem finding a sun bed. We enjoyed the buffet restaurant food which had plenty of varied choice and also ate at the Minoan Cretan (thanks for the birthday cake) and Kullinarium bookable restaurants both of which we really enjoyed (wine was extra but we didn’t mind) and the food at Kullinarium was actually of outstanding quality. We chose not to eat at the Chinese restaurant but there was availability. All of the restaurant staff were very hard working and happy to please. There isn’t much available in way of snacks that you’d normally expect from such a resort but we honestly weren’t bothered by this. We preferred to drink at the Thalasso pool bar, the staff were very friendly and again the bar area boasted the views across the bay and towards the beach. The only negatives we experienced were that one of the receptionists was a little lacking in the ‘friendly’ department (but the other one was lovely), some poor evening entertainment although the Greek dancing/music night was very good. We also had a small issue with the main Panorama bar staff in terms of not such great service. Some things also needed a little attention here and there, a broken sun bed for instance, but we put that down to it being nearly the end of the season. We were told the minibar in the room was restocked everyday, it was, but only with water, some extras would have been nice. However these little negatives did not spoil our holiday at all. It’s not what I personally would class as 5 stars but then in all honesty not many European hotels that say 5 stars are true 5 stars, but it’s a very lovely modern hotel in a very quiet area ideal for a total chill out which is what we went for but if you’re looking for nightlife this hotel and area’s not for you. Also the hotel is built into a hill - as you can clearly see from the photos - so it’s great for getting your steps in but if you’ve mobility problems it might not be for you. There are golf carts available for dropping off you and your luggage when you arrive and leave the resort but they’re not a taxi service and the resort isn’t big enough for you to need them for that anyway. Please don’t be out off by the bad review below as it’s not a true reflection of the hotel.

It’s saddening how this resorts portrays themselves on social media & scams guests into believing they will be vacationing at a 5 star resort. As a Greek-American myself, my husband and I came to seaside resort for our honeymoon & unfortunately experienced one of the worst horrific experiences we have ever had at a resort. I’ll start with the pros as there were a few redeeming qualities of the place. Beautiful scenery, but of course as a Greek, I already knew Greeces’s beauty speaks for itself considering all the times I’ve been to Greece. The food was mediocre, wasn’t bad yet wasn’t anything to rave about. The worst is no snack after 9:30… & no food from 2-6 besides some random pool bar chips. If you do make the mistake of booking this resort, head down to the town of Agia Pelagia & eat at Sofia’s Corner. Wonderful authentic food made with love & plenty of other restaurants to dine at that will give you the best authentic Greek food. Our Arrival was greeted with nothing more but a hello & here’s your room with a little map of a massive resort. Our room looked nothing like what we had booked online. We had the superior private sea view with pool. I have put a picture of our so called “view” (massive bush that kept growing throughout our stay and blocked the view) my husband called to get pool cleaned from all the debri & bugs but nobody came so he had to use a cup and just do it himself. The worst part about our room was it was the farthest room & to get to the main/ restaurants we had to go up huge hills and long paths. There was never available golf carts to drive us. If you want to lay by the pools, good luck… because they allow people to go put their towels on chairs to reserve their spot while they eat dine or are away & the resort allows it which is completely absurd & unfair. They said the indoor heated pool would be open the 15th, well when I asked the spa worker said no heated pool yet Andreas( the manager) said oh yes she called and I told her yes to heat it. Ok thanks buddy… a little too late. Poor communication between staff members. The entire staff is tired, overworked & probably underpaid cause seems like they hate their lives . I will say they tried their hardest to be polite but they had no answers when it came to how poorly the resort is operating We booked covid tests to get back into the states & of course major miss communication on someone coming to administer the test. Wasted our time. When my husband told Andreas our stay hasn’t been well he sent us to “guest relations” we spoke to Maria who is a real piece of work. As we politely tried to explain our feedback, she took everything very negatively & belittled us by saying we are young and haven’t traveled much… we will learn how things function. I pointed out we have traveled many places & yet she proceeded to treat us like inexperienced children instead of apologizing & acknowledging the resorts failures. Her response was we should have said something about the bush & all the other issues. That may be true but a so called 5 star resort should be have that expectation already set. They sent us macaroons & champagne the next day after I specifically told her please don’t bother. Another excuse they love to use is they have no budget. My answer to that would be well stop flying instagrammers here and having them promote you all for free & focus on your paying guests who paid a lot of money thinking they would be relaxing at a 5 star resort. This is a 2 star resort, please save your money, don’t be fooled by the Instagram. Go spend it at other wonderful resorts that Greece has to offer. Also we had worms all over room…. & they never put the hammock out… only for the influencers they said
