Chateau de la Voloniere is not your usual bed & breakfast experience! I love it so much I've been over 15 times! Your bohemian and charming host, Claude, likes to welcome his guests in the 13th Century chapel and chat about the local area over a glass of apple juice or wine. His local knowledge is vast and he will...

This place is just out of this world. Do not expect a regular Château experience there, or you'll be deceived. It's a mysterious, beautiful, full of incredible history but still a warm place. The main room, in which you are welcomes, is just amazing. Let's be honest, no one expects to be greeted with a glass of sparkling wine in...

I have only good things to say about Chateau de la Voloniere. Very quiet location, peaceful place with magic atmoshpere and positive energy. Big thanks to Claude who gave us very warm and friendly welcome and explained everything about history of the chateau and the region. The chateau is surrounded by beautiful park with big trees, fountain, swimming pool and...

To arrive at the Chateau after an ardous thirty six hours travel ..was an absolute delight.. and a most perfect introduction to France... Our charming and most gracious host Claude, together with the most able Rowan .. ensured our stay was enjoyable and relaxed...bountiful breakfasts, a shared meal with guests, directions to nearby restaurants and sights. We enjoyed one of...

I really don't understand the good reviews about this place!!! The place is nice from the outside and from afar. But as you get closer the entire chateau is more a squat than a B&B really... there's garbage and filth everywhere, the rooms are disgusting and dark (ours smelt of cat urine and mold and the sheets had stains on...

HOLYTEMPLAR, Owner at Chateau de la Voloniere, responded to this review

As far as I’m concerned, I cannot believe that civilized people, coming from Switzerland to a B&B late in the night (this, I knew), did not give a call while on their way, to tell “we still have 200 or 400 kms to go, and shall arrive around 10pm or 2 am”. To wait in such conditions is very difficult!...

Our family of five were put up in the Roi Arthur apt. which was itself one of the most beautiful apts. we have ever stayed in our many holidays around the various regions of France. The chateau in which it is housed is so large that there are many still unused and unrenovated nooks and crannies but that which is...

Our family has just stayed in the Chateau for the week. We've had a wonderful time, being looked after by the owner Claude and his team throughout our stay. The Chateau is steeped in history, has rustic charm and themed rooms to reflect the regions poetry and art. Outside, there is beautiful parkland to explore, with a pool and fountains....

In May 2012 we were met by the wonderful owner/host Claude and brought into his mystical world from the minute that we said hello. He was a wonderful host and his home is totally unique. Each room has its own theme and equal story to go along with it. We stayed in the King Author suite and were greeted by...

We experienced the most unbelievable family holiday at Chateau de la Voloniere in July 2011. There were 17 of us in our family group with an age range of 6 to 73...everyone had a ball.
