Excellent hostel with lots of hammocks and places to relax and provides a very chilled out, friendly atmosphere. There is both a restaurant and separate kitchen for when you want to cook yourself. The staff are very helpful and welcoming and they provide a free shuttle to the national park (only one way, but you can either get a taxi...

I am just now finishing up my third year staying at the Tucan Hotel. My husband and I spend a lot of time in Uvita and we always look forward to the wonderful owners Tra and Bette and staff here. They do so much to make every guest feel welcome, from organizing numerous amazing tours for guests to providing vital...

The two owners were very pleasant and a real help. They arranged a horseback ride and even took us to a restaurant outside of the hotel. We liked it so much that we are going to go back in about 5-6 weeks. A really good trip.

40$ for a bedroom with air conditioning as noisy as the trucks passing by or the dogs screaming at anytime of the night. Don't try to sleep! The beds are not comfortable either... Otherwise the concept is nice, good people, hammock, piano, a kitchen you can use (the super market is really close). But when foreigners come in a cheap...

I have been travelling for the past 6 years so I have stayed in a lot of Hostels this is my favourite. Tucan Hotel is what all hostels should look like. The set out is designed to enable people to relax in lots of quiet spaces. The kitchen is set up with all the things you need & it is...

The location is great for bus riders and anyone who wants to be close proximity to groceries, banks, restaurants, etc. Don't let that deter you if that's not what you want though, there's not much to Uvita (and I like it that way). Owners and staff are welcoming and helpful, the overall vibe of the place is open. We stayed...

We accidentally came across the Tucan hotel when we had a stopover in Uvita, and came to understand that it is a place one of its kind. When being in Costa Rica you are constantly confronted with the motto “Pura Vida”, but it was not until here that my girlfriend and I really experienced it. This is due to the...

It is a "hippie style" hotel. Ok for a quick stay, but don't expect much. Beds are old. Not that clean. We did like the place to cook, great idea. Very good location: near the Marino Ballena National Park, restaurant and grocery.

This place is really great! Family run hotel with really cosy hang out area, great vibe, excellent food and fantastic service as well. The Tucan Hotel is the overall best place I have stayed in years. Awesome value also as the prices are low.

Close to a very nice waterfall and with a free shuttle to the beach this is a great place to stay! Staff is very friendly, atmosphere is totally relaxed, internet is fast and free coffee all day. Nice hammocks! We slept in them for a night and had a great night of sleep :)
