On our way to Corcovado we stayed at La Cacatua Lodge. It was absolutely the best place where we stayed on our trip in Costa Rica, thanks to Tripadvisor. At the day of arrival the owners welcomed us with a nice free drink of the house. The hotel has nice cabins with beautiful decorated and clean rooms. There is a...

I went for a couple nights to this nicely located place up the hills of Uvita and you can bet it was a good choice. Marja and Peter both made it fell like home and waited for our arrival awake late, which was very nice from them. Places are just fine, clean and basic but cozy and nicely decorated. Breakfast...

we wanted to spend a couple of days in Uvita and bring our puppy with us, La Cacatua Lodge was the only place in the area that allowed us to make this happen. The place is really beautiful, the rooms are cozy, the green areas are very spacious and the attention of managers is very good, definitely a place to...

The lodging is top notch in quality. Very nice comfy beds and pillows, solft towels and a superb bathroom, all very well decorated, located on a hillside. The lodges all have their own path to them, so very private. On top of that they come with a small fridge that is very useful for cooling your drinks for a trip...

Peter and Maria were excellent hosts and fun to talk to. They had great advise as to where to go for meals and activities. We went paddle surfing, whale and dolphin...

It took us a long time to find this place as the signage is minimal. It's up a long dirt road which was a bit scary at night in our 2-wheel drive car. The owners are friendly, and grounds are pretty. The room itself was just ok. It was attractive enough, but smelled of mildew and had no AC. It's...

Stayed here in a studio for 2 nights on our honeymoon. Peter and Marja were EXCELLENT hosts catering to our every need. Rooms were extremely clean, and modern, and a great value for the $. Only drawback was there was no ac, and room can become a little stuffy. There are ceiling fans that do make things a little cooler.We...

I live in San Jose and wanted to go to the south for a weekend with my husband because we never have been there. They said there are beautiful beaches and if you are lucky you can see whales and dolphins. So we decided to go to Uvita due to the National Park Marino Ballena. We wanted to stay in...

“All studio rooms are spread out over a few acres, so there is great privacy no matter where you stay. We stayed in the lowest studio unit on the property( which is built on a hill), and it was a bit of a trek back up and down each time. So, keep this in mind when asking for the lower studio.”
