I stayed three nights at La Cacatúa Lodge and really liked the place. You really need a 4x4 car to get there and the road is not in the best shape, but, other than that, the place is great. María and Pedro are really nice and helpful. The farm where the rooms are is beautiful. The rooms are small, but...

It is very delightful to spend a few days with Peter & Marja in Cacatua Lodge and enjoy their hospitality. Perfect view from a lovely garden with lots of birds. Nice and proper cottages with a private terrace, fridge and kettle. Also a good base to explore the Uvita area. Beach, town, supermarket and restaurants to be reached within 10...

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful Lodge in the middle of a peaceful and very relaxing natural place. The owners of the place are lovely, they received us very well and everything went perfectly. Highly recommended!

Peter and Maria are tremendously helpful, social, careful and good hosts. They seem to do almost anything themselves, making the whole stay feeling very personal, as if you are staying with friends. The lodges are perfect, luxury in the middle of the jungle. Good breakfast, good coffee, good dinner option. Definitely recommendable to couples, families and small groups.

We made the reservation to stay at La Cacatua months in advance, but it seems we got put in the worst possible room. The first 3 nights we succeeded in switching to a larger one with a full kitchenette, although not very functional because the lights are extremely dim and you can't see what you're doing. That stay was ok....

La Cacatua has lovely grounds, and our cabina had a kitchenette which was v handy. However there's a basic design problem: both our cabina and our friend's were mildewy. I think this is because the main window is actually the patio door, which is unscreened, so the place never airs out (and has no AC). Good location 10 mins from...
